assign5.stanford.edu (NaCl) down?

Same as yesterday, but it's been unresponsive for an hour now.

Console messages pretty much the same, but after the fifth failure the message changed from ERR_CONNECTION_TIMED_OUT to ERR_CONNECTION_RESET; this may tally with the error when I tried to open a browser window to that url- Safari said that the remote server had unexpectedly dropped the connection.

(Though I'm not sure what normally happens with a browser connection to that server)

I can ping it, so the connection is viable.

I also am seeing this. In the 30 minutes since I restarted my browser, I've gotten 2 ERR_CONNECTION_RESET and 5 ERR_CONNECTION_TIMED_OUT in the debug console. assign5.stanford.edu pings ok for me as well.

It's still down for me too.

I gave up on it several hours ago and restarted the desktop client.

Let's hope not too many came across it in the Google app store and thought it looked like a good cause… I doubt they'd have been impressed

Is this related to whatever has been happening for more than 12 hours? I left for work this morning and the software was downloading and gets stuck between 27.3% and 27.8% so it can't even get started folding. Nothing else has changed on either system I attempt to fold with.

No, it's not the Assignment Server.

Assignment Servers (including assign5) do not download WUs. That's the job of a Work Server. The assignment server directs you to a specific Work Server which has the type of WU that your client can run (in this case, a WU for NaCl, and there is more than one Work Server that has that type of WUs).

If you haven't already tried it, close Chrome and restart it.
