I have posted about 1000 WU lately, at a rate of about 10/day. During the analysis, these show a value of 1500-2000 points each. However, once finished, i get an average of 350 points each. Is this the way it is supposed to work?

Are you using a Passkey? Without one you will only receive the base credit.

You problem indicate not having a passkey installed. Please see here http://folding.stanford.edu/home/faq/faq-passkey/

This passkey enable you to get base credit plus a quick return bonus (QRB).
Keep in mind once you have the passkey installed you need to finish 10WU in order to be eligible for QRB. You 1000 WU done are not counting for this qualification requirement.

Folding@home has both a scientific basis for points, and also a quick return bonus, which increases scientific value with the rapid return of completed work.

If you have dual core computer, and ChristianVirtual has an 8 core computer, CV will always get a lot more points regardless of work unit count. 8 cores process work units much faster than 2 cores. CV simply has not been folding as long as you, and is folding on a much faster computer. Easily explained, nothing unfair about that, and so no reason to leave FAH when you understand the bigger picture.

The same is true for folding on GPUs. If you fold on a $100 GPU, your points will be a lot less than if you fold on a $1000 Titan X. The faster GPU gets exponentially more points, even with a lessor WU count.

Not all work units are equal. I fold on GPU cards as old and wimpy as a G105M to as new as a GTX 550ti (much newer cards exist) so different computers get core 11, core 15 or core 17 series work.

The CPUs do 500 (Athlon 64 5050e) to 20,000 PPD a day, (Sandy Bridge i7) again FAH sends harder work to more capable CPUs, so not every WU is worth the same.
The Quick Return Bonus also rewards better equipment, and 24/7 folding. (quite a lot of my PCs fold 8 to 4 weekdays)

Number of WUs and points received cannot be compared between donors like that since there are small WUs that finish quickly but give small reward, and there are large WUs that take along time to finish but give a high reward. So points per WU is not a good measurement of fairness

It is the result of two GTX 780 running 24/7 in addition to one i7 and one i3 rig. yes, they generate quite some solid points. But that's just "middle class", others have several Titans or multi CPU system and create lots lots more points per day. Good for them. Does not bother me.
And I believe that is in many DC projects the same situation. Different setup, different outcome.

But again: do you have a passkey installed, it seems you don't receive proper QRB.

Using a database tool available to moderators, I have checked and you have not folded any WU's using a passkey. Get a passkey using the link provide in the Passkey FAQ and use it. Once you meet the requirements, then you will get the points shown as estimated in your pre-V7.4 client. The version 7.4 client will base its estimated points on whether or not a passkey is entered, older versions assumed one was entered in their estimates.

As for fairness, as has been pointed out by others there is a range of projects and equipment. WU's from some are small and take a short length of time to complete, while others take much more resources and time. Faster equipment will also process WU's quicker and earn bonuses for that quick return. But in the end all distributed computing groups have their policies and procedures to follow before you get points, picking another one is not going to change that.

P.S. I have 3x the number of WU's completed compared to CV, but less than half the points. I have no problems with that as I know that we are processing different work and have different folding histories.

Without additional information: what should we tell you ? No system info, no info on WU, nothing for passkey. Are you using NaCL client based on Google Chrome or FAH client v7 ?

Have you added the passkey yet and then successfully run the required 10 WU's to qualify it? What do you expect to happen?
