9401 fails on GM107 but not GK106 {Hopefully fixed}

It seems that a lot of GPU problems revolve around specific versions of drivers. Though NVidia has their own support structure, you can often learn from information reported by others who fold.

Problems can be divided into THREE major categories.

1) Maxwell problems
. A) ... using the V6 work-around
. B) ... using recent V7 assignments of Core_15
. C) ... using earlier V7 assignments of Core_17

Problem 1C has been confirmed and no more old reports are needed.
Since Maxwell is known to fails on Core_17 (problem 1C) for those running Maxwell hardware on V7 are supposedly redirected to Core_15 (possibly problem 1B)

2) Problems with specific WUs. As always, report both your system configuration and the PRCG so the Mods can check if others are getting failures -- or start in the Issues with a specific WU forum.

3) Problems with the beta core. [Report in the beta forum or IRC.]

I am using V7.3.6 and I'm not getting redirected to Core_15, it might be that others have avoided Core_17 through luck alone. Just yesterday I had to stop folding for a few hours to prevent the pointless butchering of more 9401's. You also mentioned a beta core, do I just delete the Core_17 folder and add the gpu back with the beta flag to download it?

I imagine Bruce had reason to write "supposedly fixed". :D The problem is to identify why the fix isn't working for you.

Can't help with beta questions here, you would need to apply to join the beta team and ask there. I don't think it will help with your issue. Read Bruce's post in the Beta forum viewtopic.php?f=66&t=26078. Only one issue is mentioned, and it's not Maxwell compatibility.

Please post the first few pages of your log showing that V7 is detecting a Maxwell GPU and it's not getting redirected. (Resuming work on a WU that has already been downloaded isn't the same as being redirected. You will continue working on that WU until it's completed or it expires.

That is because the adv and beta flags are just a preference. They do not guarantee you will get what you want. If no projects are in adv(and i don't think any currently are) you will get regular work.

I think all the info is there (Maxwell GPU on Windows, AMD64 processor, but getting Core_17 Projects 13000 and 13001 when it shouldn't -- please correct if this is wrong).
PG will need to find out why this is happening at the servers.
Normally you should make sure your log includes the System and Config sections generated at startup.

As davidcoton suggests, we really need the first couple pages of your log, Meiz. Your GPU is not being reported as a Maxwell.
