Folding inside a FreeBSD Jail?

Post by spartin503 »

Is there anyway I can contribute through FreeBSD? And if so how do I set it up and would I be limited to only CPU folding or could I do CPU and GPU folding?

Currently F@H is only supported on several Linux distributions. Some people have posted being able to fold on some of the BSD distributions with Linux compatibility installed, I don't know if that will work for FreeBSD. If it is possible, the F@H software would need to be given network access over the appropriate ports to connect with the folding servers. As for GPU folding, that currently depends on the proprietary drivers from the vendors. At the moment only the ones from nVidia are advanced enough in their OpenCL support under Linux for folding to work.
