Got set up last nigh and in the process, applied for a passkey and waited to complete the setup process because usually internet communication is pretty fast these days. Well, it never came so i completed the setup process and began to run the first WU. Checked my mail again the A.M. and still no p.k. Went to the website and applied again. It's now 5:07 P.M. and still no passkey.
What do i need to do next?
Have a great evening and it's good to be folding again!

I just requested a passkey, and I received the email in under a minute.
It takes very little time to send. Something appears to be blocking the email en route to your Inbox. Spam Filter, AntiVirus, Internet Service Provider, NSA?
Well, since the email addy is on a gmail server i'd go with the last option. i'll check it again. i also have it connected to my Thunderbird program on my compu so it should come through.
Will check and see if it's in the Spam folder although i think i've already checked it.
Have a nice evening and thanks for helping!

Ug - there it was, in my gmail Spam folder - both of the requests. This has highlighted a shortcoming of my TB and Gmail connection - i'm not getting ALL of the mails from Gmail to my TB desktop. Have to figure out what to do.
Thanks again guys and have marked this as Solved. Have a wonderful evening!

There's a more fundamental question, though. Who at Google (or elsewhere) is responsible for deciding what is spam and what is not? If the Stanford address that sends out passkeys is identified as a source of spam, somebody, somewhere, has the ability to remove it from that list. Who knows what else important is being blocked ... or what spam is actually being blocked ... except the managers of the basic spam list.
Stanford is developing a Chrome client so there's an implicit partnership being forged. That ought to be enough to un-spam the passkey notifications on gmail.
