I will be shutting my machine down for over a week. I would like to tell the system to complete the current work unit and take no new ones. This is with version 7 running on a server that I connect to through ssh (command line only). This is on version 7 of FAH.
How to I tell the system to stop loading new work units through the command line?

From the V6 to V7 Client Differences page, you would use the --max-units parameter on the command line. If you were using the FAHControl graphical interface you would use the Finish command. This can be set up on a system to control clients on other networked machines without displays. Whatever other commands can be used on the command line you can see by using FAHClient --help.

telnet localhost 36330
finish xx
where xx is the slot number, 00, or 01, etc. Or leave the xx number off, and it will finish all slots.
(assuming this Windows command works in linux as well...)
Client will complete the current work unit(s) and stop.

Thanks 7im, that did the trick, and yes this works in Linux.

I don't think it does. https://fah-web.stanford.edu/projects/F ... tInterface7im wrote:(assuming this Windows command works in linux as well...)
FAHClient is not compatible with the Windows telnet program (at the moment). The client expects to receive whole commands than a character at a time. If you telnet remotely from a Linux box to your Windows machines it should work fine. You could also try installing a 3rd party telnet program with more options.
