Hi!
I'm new here on the forums and somewhat new to Folding, used to do it occasionally in the past but now I have the equipment that can run it better.
I do have a (possibly complicated) question which is at the end.
Right now I have our dual Xeon E5645 (32GB, Server 2012 Essentials) at the office running folding @ home, That's 24 threads! Getting about 23k points per day now and next week our FirePro W7000 comes in! Plan to run the software on "Full" settings at least 12 hours per day.
Tomorrow I put together my 3 way SLI 660ti rig and plan to fold about 12 hours per day as well. Amd 8 core paired with it. Curious to see what I get.
I'm excited to see some serious points coming in and hopefully I'll be able to help out!
So on to my question, I've currently replaced 7 of our workstations at our office with small workstations running a MSI C847IS-P33 motherboards with a dual core celeron @ 1.1GHZ (dual core) and I would like to use these for folding on a time schedule. Our hours at 8am-6pm M-F and I would like to run F@H when we're closed. I was curious if anyone's ever don't this before, their all running W7 32bit.
Anyway appreciate any help or comments!

Hello DrDilbert, welcome to the forum.
On the workstations, you will be running a CPU only client, no GPUs. So install the client as a service. Then use scheduled tasks to net start and net stop the service on whatever schedule you like. I've done with with the previous version of the client. I had one set of start/stop tasks for weekdays (Mo-Th), and one set for the weekend (Fr-Su).

Please note that it is stated in the EULA that permission is required to run F@H on systems that you personally don't own. Thus, I would suggest that you have written permission to allow F@H to run on the servers so that it won't have a negative impact on your job since verbal agreement is slightly harder to track down when compared to a written agreement

Re: New Member With a Simple (Hopefully) Question
Do note that GPU folding as a service under W7 is not supported. A service install works fine for CPU-only though.
