Stop client from fetching a new WU after current finished?
As per my previous post regarding running the same work unit from different OS's in the same system, I want to know if it is possible to cease all folding after my current work units are completed? I will be setting up a new client to operate in a different way, and I don't want to accept any more work units when the current ones complete because I won't be running that client anymore.

Assuming you're running the latest revision of v7 (7.3.6) in Windows, open up Advanced Control (right-click the FAH icon in the systray), right click the slot(s) in question in the Folding Slots area, and select Finish.

Thank you Zagen30, does that mean that it will not download another work unit after they complete then?

Finish tells the slot to not download a new WU until specifically told to. This can happen either due to you instructing the slot to Run or if the client's set to auto-start on login and the OS is rebooted.

Re: Stop client from fetching a new WU after current finishe
Note that the new client downloads the next WU at 98% or 99% as a default, so you want to set it to finish before that percentage.

Yeah, Advanced Control works the same in Win/OSX/Linux, just that there's no systray in Linux, and I'm rather unfamiliar with OSX.billford wrote: Same in the OS X version, could be useful- thanks.

It wasn't that... I usually use the Advanced Control rather than the browser interface as it gives more useful information, I just didn't realise that right-click menu was there

It isn't very obvious. I wonder if the text above it could be changed to 'Folding Slots (Right-click to control individual slots)', or something like that. Well, the question isn't so much could it be changed, but more whether that would be too cluttered.

Hard to say... maybe drop the word "Folding" and just use "Slots (Right-click to control)" ?
It'll make sense to those who know what it means, and those who don't shouldn't be touching it

Pretty sure there is a ticket requesting the right-click options be made more obvious to the casual observer, like adding a down arrow, or "i" info icon, something like that.
