Wow I already rank more than 50% of folders in 1 month
Is this right?
I joined about 1 month ago and I already surpassed half to folders and I don't even leave my computer on all the time.
Hasn't this project be on for years?

Are you talking about 50 percent of the folders on your team or all folders over all teams and all time? The former is possible. I seriously doubt the latter.
What is your folding name and team number?

If you're looking at "All Users" and not "Active Users" I can see how this is possible.....
Given sufficient thrust, pigs fly just fine.

Probably 50% of all folders submitted one or two workunits and quit, so i guess in the scope of things you are better than 50% of everyone.

Most likely... I folded a meagre two units for another team but that still put me ahead of ~370,000 donors:v00d00 wrote:Probably 50% of all folders submitted one or two workunits and quit, so i guess in the scope of things you are better than 50% of everyone.

Prolly in the early days people downloaded this and then their computer starts beeping so they never came back. LOL
TBH, I was a bit shocked that it used so much CPU. If I didn't have a multi-core I'd prolly quit too!
I was doing "Screensaver Lifesaver" years ago and then when I got a HT processor, for some reason it used so much CPU my computer started beeping so I quit that a long time ago.

Dont know what my rank is, but my team rank which is just my machines apart from a few workunits is 1200ish (total of 4700ish workunits). Soon i will hit 1 million points and stick the certificate on my site. Then i'll be happy. Everything beyond that is an anti-climax.
But then ive been folding for a few years now, so to be expected.

Too bad we don't have a Team section anymore in the forum.. i used to report what my team was doing and how we're going points, WU wise etc.

That's actually the basic concept behind F@H -- it uses all the idle CPU cycles that you allow it. However, if you need them for something else, F@H releases them immediately.Ericson_Mar wrote:TBH, I was a bit shocked that it used so much CPU. If I didn't have a multi-core I'd prolly quit too!
Note first that if F@H is using 98% of your CPU cycles, that means it is normally idle all that time, and those cycles would be represented in the Windows Task Manager as the "System Idle Process."
Also, if you don't want F@H to use all that CPU time, either for temperature problems or perceived response sluggishness, there are a couple things you can do:
If you use the graphical 5.03 client, minimize it so the pretty pictures don't show. Another option is to use the 5.04 console client, which runs in a simple "DOS box" command prompt window or as a Service.
You can set up any of the clients to use less that 100% of idle CPU time. People with older/slower machines often do this, because a few idle cycles are all an app need to start "NOW" instead of in a half second. Depending on the machine, 85-95% will eliminate virtually all perceived response lag.

No, just a certificate for my site. Showing 5 years worth of folding for the cause.bapriebe wrote:So does that get you the Porsche or the Lamborghini?v00d00 wrote:Soon i will hit 1 million points
Im more interested in the 5000 work unit target thats coming up, and then the 10000 work unit milestone.
I think Vijay is probably already lined up to take his place on the Modern Day Saints List, one day.Ericson_Mar wrote: It might get the Pande Group one one day!
