HD7790 Support

Post by scmo »

Anyone know when the new 7790 will be supported? Not in GPUs.txt.
Also, any notification mechanism for the update?

GPU.txt FAQ
FAQ wrote:4b)If you still have not found your GPU, post the VendorID:DeviceID of your GPU in one of the threads in this forum.
FAQ wrote:2) If you don't see it, find the VendorID:DeviceID of your GPU. These can be obtained by running gpu-z and looking six lines down for "device ID" or by running fahclient --lspci (with two dashes) or by looking at the device properties in the Windows device manager.
To my knowledge, no one has supplied that post in the GPU.txt forum

If the client can't ID the GPU it will automatically download a new copy of GPU's.txt every 30 days till it can ID the card. Other than that there is no notification mechanism.

Thanks for redirecting the post. The device ID is 1002-665C. Let me know if I need to post the ID elsewhere

Its

0x1002:0x665c

Oddly though, my client is trying to recognize my 7790 as "R9600 Pro primary (Asus OEM for HP)" which is in GPUs.txt but I'm still getting UNSUPPORTED.

I just added this in the source GPUs.txt file. I don't know how long it takes to get it published. Download the new file when it becomes available.

Also, you may have to remove and readd that GPU slot if the change is not recognized automatically.
