Hi,
I've been contributing to FAH for about a month and never had troubles completing the work units before the preferred deadline, until now. I am working on Project 7809, which has base credit of 1722.50 points. On my machine, the ETA is 30 days, which means I won't be able to complete before the deadline. I'm not too eager to waste 30 days of my CPU, so is there any way to drop this?
I think there is some kind of issue with either my setup or the project, since before I completed 5000 point projects in a day or two.
Specs:
Intel Core i7-2670QM, 2.20Ghz, 4 cores, no OC
8GB Ram
Windows 7, updated
FAH 7.2.9
SMP, Project 7809
Thanks.
Project taking too long

Re: Project taking too long
Welcome to the F@H Forum sphoenixee,
Could you please post the initial section of your log which has the system configuration and your setup information? The reason is that it would give us a better understanding of your configuration.
The sudden slow down can be caused if the SMP is being slowed down by other process that are running on your system. If you are not running any CPU intensive applications, then a simple system reboot might solve the issue. If not, then you may want to look at what applications are using the CPU and if those applications are needed on a daily basis by you, then we can help you optimize your F@H setup.

Re: Project taking too long
Thanks Panther. I rebooted my machine, and then, the client hung on the "connecting" status. Maybe there was a problem with my setup then. I did a reinstall, and hopefully things will work OK now. I'll post again if anything further crops up. Thanks again!
Re: Project taking too long
The first page of the log is still useful, especially if you encounter another slow-down. (You didn't describe your system in your profile or when you asked for help.)
