Hello everyone!
I hope my questions wasn't answered somewhere in the FAQ (I read it quite precisely) and I won't irritate you with, probably, stupid question.
Here's my problem:
-Using "Full" setting my GPU works great, however CPU is getting overheated (up to 85 Celcius). However...
-Using "Medium" setting my GPU is constantly in "waiting for idle..." mode, although GPU Meter says it's totally unused. (CPU: 75 Celcius, is it safe?)
Some tech info:
-CPU: Intel i5-2410M
-GPU: GeForce GT 540M
-OS: Windows 7 64-bit
-FAH: Version 7.3.2
-Nothing is overlocked (and never was)
-Never had stability problems
Is there problem with my GPU drivers? FAH configuration? Or something else?
I'll be greateful for any help!

Re: Constant waiting for idle for GPU on medium
If you can see that message, the computer hasn't been idle long enough or something is keeping the screensaver from activating.

Re: Constant waiting for idle for GPU on medium
Yeah, that's right, just left computer for a few minutes and GPU started its work. Anyway, I still have to deal with overheating problem, but it doesn't seem to be FAH issue.
Thanks for help!

Re: Constant waiting for idle for GPU on medium
How do I get it to fold even when not idle?
I want it to fold 24/7 even with me using it.
Edit never mind, I see you's have really changed it, and have a folding level... Switching to full did it.

Re: Constant waiting for idle for GPU on medium
From the CPU and GPU model, it seems that you are folding on a laptop. An easy way to reduce the temperature is to ensure that the laptop's base has enough clearance (distance between the table and the laptop's base) to ensure air circulation. The easiest method that I am using is to place 3 bottle caps and place the laptop on it so there is improved ventilation which can help in certain cases. You can also buy a dedicated cooling pad if you want. Moreover, cleaning out the fans of your laptop (if possible), might help to reduce the temperature.Raczek wrote:...Anyway, I still have to deal with overheating problem, but it doesn't seem to be FAH issue...
Personally, I am not overly concerned about the CPU/GPU temperatures of my laptop since the system will manage itself if the temperatures get into the danger zone by downclocking and in extreme cases, by powering off. I have observed a max 91C on my GTX 675M and no downclocking occurred. IIRC, the max on my i7-3840QM was 80C and then too, it didn't downclock. Do note that these were the max and not average since my average is in the mid 70C for both CPU and GPU.

Re: Constant waiting for idle for GPU on medium
Nobody has ever complained that their computer doesn't get hot enough or that they don't notice enough screen lags so the default settings were adopted that were less than POWER=FULL. I guess this title's topic represents a new kind of complaint.
