quick question re: GTX 690
Since that's considered a dual GPU card, does that mean that two clients are required to engage both GPUs or will one suffice?
Thanks. (Tried looking for info about that on here and it doesn't really say).

One client ... two slots.

Is F@H single or double precision FP?

As far as I know, all current work is single precision. A few Double Gromacs SSE2 cores do exist, but they aren't used anymore.

Re: quick question re: GTX 690
Hmmm...good to know.
What's the process required to add a GPU to the GPU.txt file? (Tesla C2075/K10 isn't listed in there, but M2075 is listed twice).

Re: quick question re: GTX 690
Read the GPUs.txt FAQ posting at the top of the New GPUs (whitelist) forum. That gives basic directions for information needed and how to obtain it, post that to the GPUs.txt topic in the same forum. It can take a while for the information to be updated, but once the GPU has been added to the file and the servers it can be used for folding.

That thread is locked. What'st he URL for the ticket submission/management system?
Re: quick question re: GTX 690
The thread is named GPUs.txt.

Active tickets can be found at https://fah-web.stanford.edu/projects/F ... t/report/3. Read only for us mere mortals, but posting about a problem here at foldingforum.org may result in a ticket being created or updated.

Re: quick question re: GTX 690
The problem is that I don't have the Tesla C2075 yet. So it's kind of hard to add the PCI device info without it (unless that info's posted elsewhere on the net - which I haven't checked yet).
It's up for debate right now for acquisition (because I CAN run SOME FEA on the same card), but I probably won't likely get it exclusively for F@H.

Re: quick question re: GTX 690
Then why would they have two listings for C2070/M2070 if they're the same thing? And if they ARE the same thing, then shouldn't they have ONE PCI devID? Think about it.7im wrote:Already in there.

0x10de:0x06d2:2:2:GF100 [M2070]
P.S. 0x10de:0x1096 is for the C2075. 0x10de:0x1094 is for the M2075. The one of the entries in the GPU.txt has a typo.
Also, unless in your alphabet C=M (and vice versa - I mean.. vime versa) ....but in my alphabet, C!=M; and ESPECIALLY in the physical hardware, C!=M. (One I can pack 6 of them into a 2U enclosure; the other, I mos def can't.) So yea....HUGE difference.

Re: quick question re: GTX 690
As I said, 1096 is already in there, which you could have looked up yourself, originally, instead of afterwards. If you want the typo fixed, ask one of the mods to open a ticket for you. But it already folds as is...

Tell you what - you tell me which line you find "C2075" and I'll go look it up, k?7im wrote:As I said, 1096 is already in there, which you could have looked up yourself, originally, instead of afterwards. And if you're going to tell me that I could have looked it up by the PCI devID, then what the hell do I need the description for?
Re: quick question re: GTX 690
Can anybody see the humor in that statement? Certainly any ancient Roman knows that C!=M.alpha754293 wrote:...Also, unless in your alphabet C=M (and vice versa - I mean.. vime versa) ....but in my alphabet, C!=M; and ESPECIALLY in the physical hardware, C!=M.
