Welcome to the forum alanharding!

There have been several reports that V7 works "flawlessly" under Windows 8, at least for the developer versions. What's going on with yours? Please elaborate.

A number of folders have reported using Folding with Windows 8 successfully. Per the Start here topic at the top of this area, please post information on what the configuration is of your system and which version of the folding client you are using. That will help us provide assistance to get you folding.

Perhaps you have something wrong other than Windows 8. Care to supply a log?

I have a problem too. Just downloaded F@h on Win 8 Enterprise Evaluation but it has not shifted off the 'connecting' state.

See Joe_H's reply above. Start Here

Last time somebody reported a problem with Win8 they had to download video drivers directly from NVidia, but I don't know if you're running a supported NVidia GPU or not.

"Connecting" could be your firewall or could be the options you changed during install.

The "trying to connect" message might be a failure to download a core or might be FAHControl trying to connect to FAHClient. We'll know which it is when somebody actually posts a log.

The IPV6 problem trying to download a new FahCore has been fixed in V7.2.9 but not if they're running V7.1.52. Again, without a posted log, we can only guess.

If you're having trouble with a GPU, start by updating the drivers directly from AMD or NV. Others have reported that early versions of WIndows 8 had older versions of the drivers and updating them worked. Nobody has reported yet on the final version that was released yesterday.

If you're having trouble with something else or if that doesn't fix your GPU, you'll have to give us more information. Describe your hardware and if possible, post FAH's log.

We've had several reports that F@h works correctly on Windows 8. Please provide us with more details. Exactly what happens?
