Failure to connect to server 171.67.108.21

Post by ashland_thunder »

I wanted to see if the IP address is even in use any longer. I downloaded GPU 6.23 because V7 would constantly give unstable machine for my GPU.
My system will not connect to 171.67.108.21, and I tried it on my iPhone and it won't either. My system is trying to send results to that IP address. I created a custom policy in my Watchguard firewall just for this system to get out. I have the V7 SMP client running on an old HP server and it has no problems at all connecting.
The system that won't connect with the GPU client is also running V7 SMP client and it connects fine. GPU is a Zotac 9600GT

Yes, 171.67.108.21 is listed as available. The current load is moderately high at 16, so it might take a few tries to get a connection. Have you gone through the troubleshooting tips in the Do This First topic that is stickied?

Welcome, ashland_thunder.

I can connect to 171.67.108.21 so it's possible that the problem has been fixed but the load remains high so I'm not sure. If you still can't get through, your security software may be the problem. That's mentioned in the troubleshooting tips.

Once you resolve the connection issue, I suggest you also ask for help with your GPU on V7. There are a lot of very helpful people on this forum, plus something weird was going on yesterday which has now been resolved.

the *.26 address was still unavailable when I left work. Thankfully the WUs went through *.21
So I should be good. I have an exception in my Watchguard firewall, and our Sophos web content filter is set to treat these IPs as trusted sites. There shouldn't be anything on my end blocking connections. Thanks.

The 171.67.108.26 address is one of the Collection Servers that has been not in service for a long time. It is listed in the stickied "Do this first" topic as one to not report. 171.67.108.21 is the work server, from the server status log it had some glitches earlier in the day.
