We don't know for sure but as the stats system has been operating normally for the past day or two and there has been an increase of 20,000 PS3s active in the past 5 days, I would say it is a genuine increase

I suspect you're both right to an extent. Wait 'til next Wednesday, and we'll see. (PS3 stats tumble during weekends due to "other use" by donors).

It's a sunny Sunday here in Holland (actualy the Netherlands) and the stats show a remarkable 2231 Tflops!
Is there another Guiness Book scheduled for this year or a reprint ?
