Post by ghansl »

i am running FAHControl for ubuntu 11.04 with 500mb ram and 3 ghz and right under the top buttons (in the FAHControl program) it says this "Client: local Connecting(highlighted in orange) inactive"

i clicked on the configure button and it took me to the configure menu and i clicked the start button under local client section and it says this "Failed to launch client with command:
FAHClient --lifeline 6802 --command-port=36330
[Errno 2] No such file or directory"

i just dont know what to do! please help! i really want to fold!

Describe how you installed fahclient package, and the fahcontrol package.

Please install the FAHClient package as well. FAHClient is the required part of FAH that does all the work. FAHControl is only the nice GUI interface.

See also (work in progress): Linux V7 FAH Install Guide

Since you are using the software center, the small deviation from the posted guide is that you save the file, then open it with the software center. The rest is about the same.

Run sudo dpkg -i fahclient_7.1.52-1_all.deb which will give you errors (ignore) and then run sudo apt-get install -f

Just curious but are you running the 32 bit version of Linux or a 64 bit version.

Or simply restart the fahclient service, which is the default way fah is installed.

sudo /etc/init.d/FAHClient restart
