I would be happy to. For example, http://folding.extremeoverclocking.com/ ... =&u=554874 No way this person can do this at home and be legit. As far as teams go, in the past their would be only one or two users that made rouge games that would force users to download F@H to use the bootleg game. Yes the team was stopped and I would expect the HPCS would do the same. If HPCS would charge for it's services then, yes, it would be fair. Making up fake accounts is not. As far as being competitive, I always encouraged people on our team to do as much as they could. I really think that _s3v3n_ is setting a bad example for us home users.

I understand that as long as F@H gets WU's finished it's a non issue for the big picture. I'm not a hater of F@H, just trying to be real.

Yeah as I said, no action can be taken unless PG/HP comes with an official statement about it... even though this does seem to violate what HP has said in the mail posted ( see the thread linked above ).

I to feel it's not fair to be passed by someone with a big mouth ( see the thread again ) who has not spend a dime on hardware or electricity. I admit to break out laughing my rear off if I where told this person would be billed for the use of electricity ;)

But, I also think, what if I leave, what good would that do? The ratio between people like you and people like s_e_v_e_n would only get worse. Do you hate us as much as well, so much you're going to let us get stuck with all 'those' people, and none of the people like you? I'd rather keep you around, and trying to better the group, even if it's not working, just knowing people are around which know better.

That single user should have his points zero'd imho, since he is breaking tos, and by association is tarring the folding@home name. But, leaving? Nah, they will have to do better.

Yeah, the other thing to consider is that these people tend to be flash in the pan types.
Here for awhile with a big flash, and then gone without any staying power.

Considering this, I will post over in the points thread regarding a seniority multiplier.

_s3v3n_ or anyone could very well be doing that at home and be legit. I know I'm no where near 2 million ppd but if I could replace 3 or 4 of my existing 8 folding computers with 4P systems then I would be close. Not everyone has the same financial constraints that I do. Some folders can be very generous towards the project but, as mentioned many times, all contributions are important to the success of F@H.

+1 bruce, MtM, Jesse_V

In OCN I see many young boys. HPCS for them is a powerful sports car. They took advantage of this chance to feel the thrill. Many of them swept through me with a lot of dust. I just smile. Here I agree that ethical standards are violated.
I also wrote an email to HP, but got no response. This is not the reason I'm angry with HP, or another participant with multiple accounts.

@ Vbironchef, I think this thing can't be reason to refuse. These things happen in life. I am 58 years old, and more philosophical look on life

sorry for bad English

This came across the wires today - the Mercury News article gives more background on where this Cloud service is heading: HP to offer cloud based computing service
HP planned to officially launch its "public cloud" service Tuesday for startups and large organizations that want to use HP's data centers for a variety of computing tasks. In addition to computing capacity, the service will include software tools that Web-based businesses and other companies can use to build and run programs, and even move programs from their own data centers to HP's.

Yes, changes at HPCloud are coming...
Dear HP Cloud Services Private Beta Customer,

Thank you for helping to make our initial Private Beta program a tremendous success! We are now ready to scale our services. On May 10, 2012, we will begin our public beta phase.

Communicating openly and transparently is one of our highest priorities. To ensure you have advance information on changes in our billing, we are reaching out to you and sharing those changes. Your usage of HP Cloud Compute and HP Cloud Object Storage will continue to be free of charge throughout April and part of May. Billing for these services is scheduled to begin on May 10th...
The letter continues on for a bit, about the services offered, but this is an enterprise agnostic forum so no need for further details... you get the idea. Private beta customers got their own copy.
How to provide enough information to get helpful support
Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn.
