Re: CPU working speed
Hi, d3yvyd. Welcome to the fold.
Could you post a description of your hardware (CPU - e.g., Intel i7 2600k or whatever), what clock speed you are running, what kind of motherboard/BIOS you have, what kind of cooling you have, how much memory and what kind. That will help determine what your system is capable of.
Can you describe if the computer has been on all the time, and if there is any other significant interfering software that has also been running.
Also, if you can do a copy and paste of the log. If you are using the V7 new all-in-one client, there is a log tab if you have selected the Expert or Advanced modes. Post the log text between "code" tags when using the Full Editor mode of the forum here.
Good folding.

Re: CPU working speed
I have Folding@home-x86 , CPU .Anyway , when the f@h is running , the task manager says:CPU usage:100% .But the progress is very very slow..

Re: CPU working speed
Note that 23 hours passed without folding running. Either you are shutting down your computer or your power-saving settings are kicking in and your computer is sleeping/hibernating. FAH can only progress when the program is running.d3yvyd wrote: [16:16:06] Verified work/wudata_01.edr

You probably need to adjust your power-saving settings so the CPU is always on.

Re: CPU working speed
bruce , I can`t run my F@H 24/24 .. I runned it only 2 or 3 hours ..but it worked just 1 hour .And , another thing. If I pause work and then I click Resume work , I have an error : 'Folding@home has run into a serious error running the core. and will shutdown.'
Re: CPU working speed
When you say it only ran for 1 hour, what indications do you see that it has stopped. There's nothing in the log you submitted indicating an error or showing a client shutdown. Say more about where you see the "serious error" message.

Re: CPU working speed
I don`t know what happen .. I works for a little time and then stop working and stop responding. And another thing ( the 3rd thing) , when I restart my computer , or I turn it off and turn it on ( day by day ) , I open F@H .And when it begin to work , I have more 1% work.Like today.I opened it and I instantly get 1% work. (from 13/250 to 14/250).

4P E5-4650 @3.1 GHz, 64 GB DDR3 @1333MHz, Ubuntu Desktop 13.10 64-bit
Re: CPU working speed
That varies wildly based on a) hardware and b) which project is being worked on. A very fast CPU working on certain projects can finish a Work Unit on the order of a few hours, while a slow CPU working on other projects can take days or weeks. WUs from project 8022 are on the short side for CPU projects, but again the length of time is still dependent on what's processing it.d3yvyd wrote:Anyway , how much hours need a regular WU ? Re: CPU working speed
in 51 minutes, you completed 670/250000 or 0.268% of a WU. To complete 100% of a WU, your computer will have to run the FAH Client about 13+ days if that was typical of the computer resources that FAH can use.[14:45:24] Completed 11830 out of 250000 steps (4%)
[15:06:22] Completed 12500 out of 250000 steps (5%)
On the other hand, you completed 1% in 6m47s. At that rate, it will take 11.3 hours to complete 100%. That variation depends on what was happening on your computer at the time.[15:29:03] Completed 14500 out of 250000 steps (5%)
[15:35:50] Completed 15000 out of 250000 steps (6%)
As Zagen30 said, those numbers apply only to project 8022.
