GPU 6.23 Not getting any new assignments..

FYI,

The GPU 6.23 client I have running on my XP Pro system has stopped receiving new jobs as of this afternoon (Central Time USA). Before, it has been doing rather good for an old system, getting over 800 points per day for the past year or so.

Below is a clipping from the log of the program attempting to get more work. Seems assignment server is doing OK (I think) from trying instructions from PantherX. By the way, I have uninstalled and reinstalled the client with nothing positive to report. Have any hints on getting work restarted here, please let me know.

OK so I got the error earlyer tonight and have tried everything, even my old GPU Tracker and the Windows GPU client... same error wherever I go.

this is a log from the v7 client with the advmethods flag. Tried both, and it's not getting work.

Golly, I've never used -advmethods with GPU. If so, what settings do you suggest.

Before this afternoon and me cleaning the machine (didn't touch the Folding directory ~ don't think the registry cleaner did). After that its been on strike. I'll try a FULL uninstall {only did a Control Panel Uninstall} noted above; aka no directory, etc. Will let you all know if I get positive results.

Getting the same issue on 3 different trackers (win gpu, v7, gpu tracker v2).
Tried with and without the advmethods.

I guess you didn't read the V7 documentation very well. -advmethods is a command line parameter in V6. In V7, it is not an extra-core-args. The core is designed to ignore extra parameters that it doesn't understand so that line is being ignored.

In V7, the setting is <client-type v='advanced'/>

Everything worked fine until last night, evem my VM for the CPU is working fine. Just a mystery. Havent changed a thing in the config or my firewall setup or anything for that matter...

Update:

Am at work now; thus cannot see how folding is proceeding on my system. As of the later morning Central Time, it received a new job to process. Given that I've included -advmethods -verbosity 9 argument in the client's, configuration for the first time, now get tasks besides the 511 pointers crunched the past year or so. That new job finished and was credited. Hope more are running as I write this.

Since that server did go down/was taken off line, thought more would have been written about it ~ bet it affected quite a few GPU folders. That was not helped with this forum unreachable because of the DNS issue. The maintenance somewhat noted above I performed on my machine is done regularly (about every month or so). Given the client failed to work afterward, naturally thought I messed something up...
