Blocking a server is not recommended as a way to avoid assignment. Folding@Home is displaying the intended behavior in trying to contact the server as assigned.
Mytheroo, are you running with all 24 cores on SMP?

hi kasson, sorry if any misunderstanding, am using an Intel Core i7-2600k - 4cores, 8 threads, and yes its using 8 threads (-smp flag).

I agree blocking a server shouldn't be recommended as it didn't work :-), my question was how do I stop my PC getting this bad WU?

Try deleting machinedependent.dat in your Folding@Home folder (to be safe, cleaning up queue.dat and work/* might also help).

Are you having problems with any other projects or just that specific one?

The real question is "Which WU are you running?" ... to be followed by "Are you having problems with any other WUs or just that specific one?"

Isn't it Project: 6099 (Run 8, Clone 25, Gen 6)?

i dont have a michinedependent.dat file in that folder. I deleted queue.dat and everything in the work folder. Situation the same, still connects to same server and grabs this bad WU.

ok, just did a configonly and changed the machine ID, it is now working on a 6097 project :-)

If it's Project: 6099 (Run 8, Clone 25, Gen 6), four donors had troubles with it ... so I marked it as a bad WU.

Oops. Missed that. (I expect to find it near the top of the log segment, and that had been cut off.

OK, others have had trouble with this WU.
The WU (P6099,R8,C25,G6) has been reported as a bad WU. Note that the list of reported WUs are stopped daily at 8am pacific time.

Edit: Ok, toTOW got to it before I did. No harm there.

You can get the most help if you put this in "Issues with a specific WU" board. In fact, I think there is already a topic about this specific WU: http://foldingforum.org/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=20611.
