Hello DaredOverdose, welcome to the forum, and to folding.

Anti-virus or firewall software or hardware is blocking the client from communicating with Stanford. What can you tell us in that regard?

@7im: The school that I attend has the firewall "Fortiguard", I guess that could be getting in the way.

Can you open the following in your browser?
http://assign.stanford.edu:8080
http://assign2.stanford.edu

Each one should produce an almost blank page that says simply OK

Both of those websites worked for me, but still no change.

Is Fortiguard installed on your computer so you can change the settings? Fah is probably unknown to it and you probably need to give Fah permission to connect to the internet.

Fortiguard is not installed on my computer; it is installed on the servers at my school. Every bit of internet I have goes through Fortiguard first.

FortiGuard is a web filtering program designed primarily (IMHO) to protect children from pornography. I have no first-hand experience with FortiGuard or any of its competitors, but from my understanding they often block useful sites and often fail to block some p0rn sites. Also from my understanding, kids are enough more knowledge about computers than their parents that they find information on the web telling them how to bypass the filter long before their parents realize they've wasted their money on a product that isn't foolproof.

I can't tell you how to bypass FortiGuard, nor can I protect you from the wrath of your school (or your parents) if you do and you get caught. I could be wrong, but you probably can't fold under the current restrictions that you're facing.

bruce might be right, however, did you ask the IT Department about this? Maybe they can see into this issue and give you better advise. Moreover, do note that if you fold on systems that aren't yours, you will need to have written permission from the owner(s) as stated in the EULA (End User License Agreement).

It is on my campus at school. It is my computer that I am trying to fold with. Plus the IT Department here isn't the smartest people when it comes to technology.
And this is very unfortunate, I really wanted to get into folding. I have so much CPU power that I'm not using. :/
