Per-machine/WU web stats

Post by darkbasic »

Hi,
I'm searching a way to monitor my machines and I still didn't find a viable solution.
I want to see a list of the completed WUs for my account, each one with the name/specs of the machine which elaborated it.
Also, a list of the machines which submitted WUs with my account, each one with total score, PPD, list of submitted WUs, % of WUs received after the preferred deadline, etc.
I was on BOINC before (Rosetta@home) and I had every kind of stats. It would be a useful diagnostic system having the stats I mentioned :)

Thanks,
Darkbasic

I believe HFM does that with v5 and v6, with it's WU Hstory Viewer. Sadly, HFM doesn't yet work with v7. Development is underway on a new version for v7.

That's windows-only anyway, I have linux servers which I need to monitor too.
Why didn't they implement it in the official web stats?

I will have to remove folding from all my servers if I can't find a way to monitor them, I already had to make custom firewall rules and I just can't install more crap.

If you want, you can create a unique passkey for each machine and use the same donor name. With the official Stats, you can check the stats for each machine by entering the username and passkey. For the overall stats, you can use only your username. However, you would have to re-qualify for the bonus points with each new pair of username and passkey.

Alternatively, if you want, you can set up different donor names for each machine and use the same passkey. That way, with the offical and 3rd party stats, you can view each machine individually. However, the collective points will not be under the same donor name, instead, it will be for each machine and there isn't a way to combine this.

That one seems a good solution, but I still didn't find how to list the completed WUs in the official stats...

HFM runs under Mono in Linux. Mono installation instructions are included on the HFM-NET webpage. It more easily monitors any Linux machine from a windows machine.

I can't install mono in a server with 15 networks attached and a firewall with 5000+ lines of code.

If you mean a list of WU that you have folded on the machine, then I highly doubt that you will ever get that since that's a lot of data. However, if you want the total WUs folded under that username and passkey combination, then you can visit this page (http://fah-web.stanford.edu/cgi-bin/mai ... =userstats) and enter the appropriate details and see the total WUs folded for that machine.

I mean at least a list of the most recent WUs folded under that username and passkey combination, but I didn't see anything similar.
With just a "Total WU" number I cannot know if the machine finished them before the preferred deadline, also I can't see which projects it folded, the PPD for each WU, etc..

I know you can't list all the WUs, but at least a list of the most recents ones would be welcome.

HFM gives you the last 10 WU that you have folded. THe only other way to do it would be for someone to come up with a new utility that keep a running record of all the WU that you have folded

Or make better web stats... I can't believe I'm the only sysadmin who doesn't want to install mono crap in his servers!

Install mono on a Linux workstation if you have one.

Run HFM on a Windows Workstation and HFM will still monitor the Linux boxes, that's far simpler than running it in mono on a Linux machine. You will have to share the FAH directory on the server with the workstation running HFM.

You do not need to install HFM on every machine in order to access their stats. Just install it your windows machine and when you add clients point them across the network to the folder where f@h is.
