Re: Folding on Radeon 7970
Please note that V7.1.42 isn't available to the public for beta testing. It is only for Internal Testers and membership isn't open.
I read the linked thread and you would have to wait for the next Open Public Beta which might whitelist the GPU. Do note that there is already a ticket opened for it (https://fah-web.stanford.edu/projects/F ... ticket/778) and once it is fixed in a version of V7, you can use the GPU with that version or higher (depending on the public availability) of V7.

Re: Folding on Radeon 7970
I've been on nvidias side for Folding for a long long time .. ATI folding simply doesn't seem to produce the same results. I'll admit, however, despite the extreme expense of this card (same with 580+) ... it's a hell of a beast. 3gb ram, 1400 mhz clock and 2048 stream processors ... well, this is going to be a tough one to beat. Currently, if I was wealthy and could afford one ... I would be going with XFX's over the others. I simply cannot stand the overly common and poor (after 6mo or more of use) fan system used on the others.
Re: Folding on Radeon 7970
The XFX was in stock for about 5 minutes. ;0
So, I'll give the reference design a good work out.
Missed the white-list on newest release of client

...so, we'll have to wait awhile longer to see how it folds.....

Re: Folding 7.1.43 and Radeon 7970
No, still waiting on:
Additional Notes:
Coming soon, we will be providing a way to manually update your client to the latest GPU whitelist which will allow people to fold on bleeding edge GPU hardware without having to wait for the next software release.
