problem receiving credit

Post by lightingguy32 »

Hello,
I am new to the forums here, but I have been folding for several years now. This is the first time I have noticed any issues with getting credit for work units (for the fermi gpu client, the gui gpu client, and the smp client). For the smp client, I am noticing that the jobs that I have completed and not been credit for are in the 7700 (7701-7710) range and for about the past 2 days I have not gotten any points. I have checked my network connection/firewall and do not see that folding at home is blocked. Could any one provide some insight to this? Thanks.

Multiple project issues (listed in body)

Post by lightingguy32 »

There are a few projects from over the weekend that I seem to be having issues with not receiving credit for, the first is project 7708 (Run 10, Clone 2, Gen 8). the next is Project 10433 (Run 160, Clone 0, Gen 5) where I got a "server has already received unit" error. The third unit is Project 10720 (Run 0, Clone 12558, Gen 0) which was submitted successfully. There were also several projects in the 7000-7010 range that I had machines say were completed, but I have not gotten points for (I noticed over the weekend and ever since the return to service from the outage that I have not gotten any credit).

Welcome to the F@H Forum lightingguy32,

Please note that I have merged both your posts into a single thread since the issue seems to be caused by the network issue discussed in this thread -> viewtopic.php?f=18&t=20214

There's nothing much that I can do other than to wait and see if the issue is resolved or not. PG is already aware of the situation and are working on it.

PantherX,
Thanks for the reply. I will keep an eye out on WU credit turn around. According to the official stats page, my last unit was turned in yesterday at around 3:00PM, however I do know that both of my GPU folders should have turned in several work units between yesterday that time and today. Will there just be a delay in receiving credit for the time frame that there was a networking issue?

There's an update (http://folding.typepad.com/news/2011/12 ... e-now.html) so hopefully, things will be better now.

Apparently, F@H inadvertently deleted my User ID. I tried to sign on and they kept telling me that my User ID didn't exist, so I registered again using the same User-ID, **"MBark" that I'd been using since I started with Folding@Home in May '11. I use a Dual Core Intel with an ATI Radeon HD 4770 GPU. I'm processing Fahcore_11 work units.

** I thought it might indicate that User ID was already in use but it didn't.

The reason I was trying to sign in was to post a problem on the Forum. The problem and steps taken in an attempt to resolve it are shown below:

1) On 12-11-11 I checked my log file and saw many of the following:

Code: Select all

[12:05:34] + Attempting to send results [December 11 12:05:34 UTC]
[12:05:34] + No appropriate work server was available; will try again in a bit.
[12:05:34] + Couldn't get work instructions.
[12:05:34] - Attempt #1 to get work failed, and no other work to do.
Waiting before retry.
[12:05:44] + Attempting to get work packet

2) So, I decided that maybe it could be a problem on my end and by quitting and restarting F@H the problem would be solved. I tried it and it didn't work. So I thought I'd try rebooting my computer and then restart F@H and that did work. Well, it worked for getting work units and processing them but it didn't start with the right number of work units I had done. I had done 665 work units as shown by User Statistics and it started with 610. F@H is not giving me any credit for the work units I'm now doing.

Question: Who do I need to communicate with so that I can get the credit for the ones I've done starting with 611 and get the total number of work units
reset to the 665 plus the number I've done that haven't received credit. Thanks in advance. Max

Welcome to foldingforum.org, MBark.

Your registration here on the help forum is unrelated to the name you use in your FAH client.

You'll note from the News Blog that FAH has had serious network problems beginning Friday Dec 10 and extending across much of the weekend. The Stats Server was placed on hold, meaning that even though the science servers were gradually restored, credits were stored and not added to the database until today. That process is proceeding. It may take a day or two before you see credits for any WUs that were successfully uploaded since then.

I'm going to lock this topic. For further discussion, see a long topic here.
