Question about new rules for advanced methods (-adv flag): viewtopic.php?f=24&t=2241

Prof. Pande's post mentions the -advmethods flag. Does this also hold good if a volunteer answered "yes" for the advmethods question asked during configuration? (Under Advanced settings in CLI) [Type=3?]

Advanced methods is advanced methods. If you ask for them in any form, they are still advanced methods.

Does the -adv flag show in the log? I have run -configonly flag trying to add the Advanced Methods to a 504 client and two fah6 clients. All starting as services.

Code: Select all

[17:58:12] Service stop request received.

Folding@Home Client Shutdown.

Service: C:\F@H\Core1\FAH504-Console
Arguments: -svcstart

Launched as a service.
Entered C:\F@H\Core1 to do work.

The -svcstart flag is shown in the Arguments but not the -adv flag.
Stopped the service
Started Command Prompt (As Admin)
CD to the Folding directory and ran FAH504-Console -configonly
Y to Advanced Methods
Closed the command prompt window and rebooted

No, if you used the client config to enable advanced methods it won't show in the log.
If you enabled it with the -advmethods flag, it will show in the log.

New WUs for Classic clients

Post by Tobit »

Have the new "bonus" units for the classic clients started flowing yet? There's some confusion on a couple other forums so I'm looking for an official word. Based on some comments I've seen from Vijay, I don't believe they have started flowing yet. However, a lot of folders are seeing an increase of small <15 point units and assuming that these are them. However, I don't believe this to be the case as I've been getting the same small units on my classic client systems since just before Vijays announcement that they were coming in the "near future".

Thanks and if you don't have a legitimate answer, please don't reply with a speculation. Too many people speculating, myself included, as it is.

They haven't been flowing yet, except for a few bursts and beta tests, but we hope to get those going out today.
