Confirmed. No recent post on folding.typepad.com about it though, but that may be to come if it persists.

The only working pages are on the 'old' fah-web domain -> https://fah-web.stanford.edu/projects/
Edit -> the issue is already known https://gadgets.stanford.edu/prod/mmr/c ... lerts.cgi#

Re: Main site down
afssvr43 seems to contain anything hosted on http://folding.stanford.edu and the cores are located in that domain so it's to be expected
I would have hoped the problem(s) would be quicker to resolve, not that familiar with afs but I think it already uses a server cluster and dynamic load balancing ect to deal with individual servers going down. Let's hope the problem can be resolved quickly.
Btw, couldn't this be related to a power problem ( vaguely remember reading something about power outages ).
Edit: btw site's up for me

This seems to be Stanford's site on AFS, for those who want to know: AFS at Stanford.MtM wrote:afssvr43 seems to contain anything hosted on http://folding.stanford.edu and the cores are located in that domain so it's to be expected

Re: Main site down
Afaik, that's only the AFS implementation for enabling transparent file sharing for faculty, staff, and students, the AFS sever in the maintenance message is more related as far as I can determine to a ( virtual ) server with an afs based filesystem. The methodology is the same, the usage isn't what you could learn from reading your link.

Re: Main site down
afssvr43 being down at the same time as 171.67.216.21 went down seems to indicate that afssvr43 hosts files needed for 171.67.216.21.
All AFS volumes on afssvr43 and the websites they host are currently unavailable

Re: Main site down
It's a good guess, but it's still just a guess. By your own standards, hard evidence is required, not guesses.

Re: Main site down
To state something as fact, you need hard evidence. But I didn't, I used 'seems' and 'as far as I can determine', indicating they are indeed assumptions not facts. Sorry if that wasn't clear enough from my previous posts.

Re: Main site down
Oh, but you did state it as fact in your first post. "Known issue" sounds rather "factual" to me.
And the rest of the thread was really hard to follow. I couldn't tell if you were countering your original statment, or trying to make it sound "more" factual.

In any case, you have since made your point clearly. No need for a response.MtM wrote:The only working pages are on the 'old' fah-web domain -> https://fah-web.stanford.edu/projects/
