Ok so with v7 running and I need to reboot, I'll just reboot. Easy enough.
Next question and maybe more of a general windows question but I set the affinity for both instances of FahCore_11.exe *32 the way I want it but it seems to get set back to defaults which uses all four of my CPUs to run the GPU client. This is done without a machine reboot so I must assume that when the client finishes a WU all affinity settings are reset? How can I stop this from happening?

When the work unit ends, the fahcore stops running until the next WU starts. Manual affinity settings end when the program stops. Default affinities are loaded when fahcore starts up again.
Try a 3rd party app like process lasso to do what you want, at least until the affinity locking is fixed in V7.

Not sure a whole forum is necessary, but a stickied thread somewhere would be a good idea.7im wrote: I should start a whole new forum section to dispell folding myths.

Re: New to ATI GPU folding... could use some help
Quitting and pausing are v6 terms. I doubt anyone wants to write MORE documents about a soon to be old client.
We don't use the term allocation because the CPU usage is not always a predetermined amount. Did you mean CPU usage?
CPU usage setting is discussed in this document: http://fahwiki.net/index.php/How_do_I_r ... options%3F
Or this v6 SMP setup guide, as in several guides... http://folding.stanford.edu/English/WinSMPGuide
V7: https://fah-web.stanford.edu/projects/F ... tUserGuide
Points already have 2 FAQs worth of info (including Bonus points, and links to more Bonus info).

Have you read these FAQs? Searched the FAH Wiki?

1. Right click on the red "gear" icon in the tool tray.
2. Select pause.
Caution: The pause feature is intended for short term stopage of the client while needing to run computatively intensive programs. The client MUST be unpaused before the client is shut down and/or before the computer is shut down. Corruption of the work unit may occur if not unpaused before shut down.

Just Quit (or shut down).
Assuming that FAHClient was started automatically when you started FAHControl, a Quit is just fine. The active WUs are automatically paused during FAH's shutdown process (unless you unplug the computer before the shutdown is finished, and you'd never do that).
The code running on the Work Servers is in the process of being upgraded. The GPU servers are still running the old code which does not deliver the necessary points information to the V7 client for it to be able to report the credit. It'll be fixed whenever the servers are upgraded.
