How to reset my points

Post by Nilushan »

I started folding under my new name yesterday. Even before 1 WU has been completed i have been credited 511 points. It says that i have completed 1 WU. Is it normal for this to happen?

If not how can i reset my points back to zero?

Pick a different username. If you already have points, before submitting even one WU then you are folding under someone else's username.

Passkeys and user names are not related like that. You can fold with any user name combined with any valid passkey.

If more than one person happens to fold under "Nilushan" you can still separate out your points. Search with that username and your passkey on the PG stats page. Only the points with your passkey will be shown. Or your name and specific team number, if you have one of those.

Are you sure you didn't complete a WU? I'm assuming from the point value that you have an ATI/AMD card, and AMD WUs don't take too long to finish.

If you want to check further, look at the log file. If you're running v7, go to C:\ProgramData\FAHClient, and open the file called log.txt. If you're running some version of v6, search for the file called FAHlog.txt. If you're having trouble parsing it, copy and paste ALL the contents in a new post here inside Code tags (selectable if you're in the Full Editor, and make sure to post the entire thing to ensure you don't leave any important bits out). Or, just search it yourself for "100%" to see if any WUs completed.

Somebody named Nilushan folded for Team [KNIGHT] (177184) back in 2010-01-06. They completed 3 WUs for a total score of 5600. You probably won't find a log from that long ago.

To find the log for the Windows version of FAHClient, go to Start+All_Programs+FAHClient+Data_Directory.

Ah that explains minorly odd behavior I saw in the stats system when I used an apostrophe in a username once! By the way, does the v7 deny usernames with non-alphanumeric characters in them? I don't recall reading anything specifically about a feature like that.

Only letters and numbers are officially supported. Other special characters may not be specifically denied, but neither are they documented either.

Use of any characters other than numbers or letters, with the noted exceptions of an at symbol "@" and a period "." to enter an email address as your user name, or an underscore "_" for a space are not supported. The use of other special characters is at your own risk.

Sorry, I can only be as clear as the documentation states.
