Since upgrading my computer, I have completed more than 40 WU's and this is the first problem that I have been aware of. If there's something that I can do let me know. If not, I can live with this (providing it doesn't continue).

That message means that the uploaded WU has failed one of the server's validity checks. It's possible that the WU was damaged during upload and that allowing the client to retry the upload will succeed, but in almost every case I've seen, the disk image of the WU results has been corrupted and can't be used scientifically.

Back Off the overclock a few MHz, and see if the return rate improves...

Thanks guys, I thought it would be a loss based on what I was able to research. I don't think it's the overclock as it has successfully finished many of these units previously. Yesterday I had been messing with the computer, adding programs and deleting programs, so I suspect it was my fault.

This AM about 5:00, a monster oak gave up and toppled over the power line about 1/2 mile up the road. I was never so aware of how dark it is with no light. That had no bearing on the previous WU, and I don't think it will effect the current. I've had power losses before with no problems. Duke Power had us up and going in less than 2 hours, although they have worked all day removing the tree and installing a new pole.

Past performance is not a guarantee of future performance. FAH continually finds ways to improve the fahcores and make them more efficient at using more computer resources, and push computers harder than before. The WUs also tend to grow over time, using more resources.

If you haven't rerun your stability tests in a while, it's time to do it again. And more than just a 2 hour run of Prime 95. Prime is lame. Use a tool that stresses the system a little harder. OCCT, Intel Burn Test, etc.

7im, Took your advice and ran Prime 95 which failed after a few hours. So I reduced the O/C one notch and Prime 95 ran without further issues. Thanks for the tip. I erroneously assumed that nothing was wrong with my setup because of its previous successes. Another lesson to keep in mind.

You really should go one step further and run OCCT or Intel Burn test as 7im sugested. Prime really does not come close to stressing your CPU as much as folding does. OCCT and or Intel Burn test come allot closer. :ewink:
Image
2 - SM H8QGi-F AMD 6xxx=112 cores @ 3.2 & 3.9Ghz
5 - SM X9QRI-f+ Intel 4650 = 320 cores @ 3.15Ghz
2 - I7 980X 4.4Ghz 2-GTX680
1 - 2700k 4.4Ghz GTX680
Total = 464 cores folding

Done! I ran Intel Burn Test last evening at the max setting and it passed. Temps went as high as 76°C which I haven't seen before. Thanks for your interest.

I've had this problem today as well.

So basically your saying i've run this over 3+ days for it to fail on upload....
Great.
I've not changed any setting from any other uload/bigadv i've been doing so i've no idea.
Gutted
No, that's NOT what anybody has said. At one or more times during that 3+ days, your computer made a calculation error. This corrupted the WU and science cannot use inaccurate results. The server has done a validity check on the data being uploaded and it has discovered the inconsistency in the data you're trying to upload so it's rejecting it.

There's a remote chance that the data was corrupted by some kind of internet error during upload. If that's true, it will upload successfully during a future retry. Unfortunately that scenario has not been my experiences. It's a lot more likely that your RAM failed or you have overclocked your system into a marginally stable region that causes floating point math to fail occasionally or the voltage is low enough that a minor fluctuation in the power supplied by your electric company caused something to fail or your system briefly got too hot or any number of possible scenarios that could lead to a calculation error. Did you actually read the earlier posts in this topic?

Corrupt data will be rejected, no matter what caused it.

Many thanks for your reply Bruce

All of this makes.
I've adjusted a few things at my end on the CPU cores 7 not 8 on my i7
This is not a 24/7 folding machine so can sometimes stopped for gaming or video playing etc.
We'll see in the next few days if all is back to normal
