128.143.199.97

Post by 314159 »

Server has been down since late afternoon 6-21 (EDT).
WUs (MANY @3000+ Pts) all uploaded to CS but are not crediting properly.

Please advise status and also help! :)

Edit: "Lookup" of CS (139.237.165.141) returns unusual results. :?:
"WasHappening"? :eo

The server looks up and running from here. Do you see it still down?

All that I can report is that it was still down at 1:41 AM (EDT) but completed WU was sent to the CS and properly acknowledged.
By the looks of the server stats page, it (128.143.199.97) appears to be up, accepting, but not assigning.

No credit on the earlier CS uploads as of the 6AM stats.

Were the ones sent to the CS lost permanently? - i.e. about 40K+ points.

None of the ones that completed so far today (17) have been assigned to this server.
Next attempt not until late afternoon - all other completions heading for xxx.96.

Edit: Official Stanford Stats as of 907AM show some recredit of WUs sent to the CS.
Would need copy of "50 day (or whatever it is called) WUs submitted report" to test whether bonus point were accurately reflected (too darn many machines here). :)

The server had a problem and required a reboot. I was at a conference and noticed it but didn't have time to ping the forum before restarting and heading to the next session...
The CS should have passed any outstanding WU's over to the server as it came back up.

Hey Peter,

You're either playing with this server or it needs immediate attention. :ewink:

Please help.

CS IS, according to my logs, accepting competed WUs issued by xx.97 but new work in no way equals the production from my farm which basically lives on xx.97.

Are/were these xx.54 WUs being benched on the machine of record? The differences are substantial.

Ok - they were received by the CS but not credited properly (based on submission time).

I am very patient and can wait..... :D

The server was down; we restarted it. Thanks for the heads-up.
In general, the CS receives work units when the WS is unavailable and marks the receipt time, but only the WS can do crediting. So credits aren't processed until the WS comes back up.

There has been intermittent problems with this server all night.

It is presently down according to server stats.

Completed WUs were picked up by the collection server. May not have been credited since xx.97 was up and down.

Please help.

It had a problem again and was restarted. The raid on this server seems particularly sensitive to power fluctuations (despite being on a UPS). We're looking into longer-term fixes.
