It looks as if there's an error in the way the work server and the assignment server are communicating. The work server is out of appropriate jobs, but you're still getting assigned. We're taking a look at it.

Well, it seems to be sorted now. I set the client running without -bigadv to get a standard a3, then re-started it with the -bigadv so it ran the a3 then picked up an a5 so all is well. Thanks.

I keep getting assigned to http://130.237.232.237:8080/ for a non-beta bigadv unit.
There is no OK message when opened in a browser and the status page reports that it is in assign only mode.
I assume this is on Stanford's end as I replied earlier to the same issue, but I have now noticed that thread was in the Beta Testing forum and I am not running any beta or advmethods flags.

If we do switch to "-smp" until it gets fixed, just how are we going to know when it IS fixed?

It's a good suggestion Grandapa_01, I'm not knocking that at all, I just wonder about the above

There currently appears to be a shortage of bigadv WU's and the new server code appears to be messed up so it is not automaticly switching over to smp, also Kasson has said the new bigadv WU's will be available in a couple of days, there should be an announcement when that happens. You 970 should run the new bigadv WU's but unfortunately that will not help your 920 since they require 12 cores. The only thing I can suggest is switch back to the bigadv flag every couple of days and see what happens.

According to serverstat, this server has only 123 WUs left. A few of those are returned every hour and they're immediately assigned to someone. Nothing is broken and nothing can be fixed.

Continually griping isn't going to change anything, except maybe convince the Mods that nobody is reading the information that has already been said in the previous 3 pages so they should lock the topic.

The only "cure" is to create new projects, and that can't be done instantaneously. The project can only be released after it has successfully completed internal testing and then beta testing. It takes even longer if the new project needs an updated Core which must also pass basic testing.

Hmmm, Ok, but that was my first and ONLY post about this situation, and further, I have a life apart from FAHome but try to contribute as much as I can you know? I don't live on the boards here, and I don't check current info as often as I should...just was simply reacting to the server being on hiatus off and on for the past 4 days, that is all I was doing.

Don't make a federal case out of something so insignificant, please!
