re: PRCG format.

I've seen other moderators request forum members who post problems with a given WU to use the "P6502,R19,C561,G84" format. That seems to be what your database holds. I've posted my share of reports on WU issues, but I copy whatever format I find in the log.

In my log snippet above, I find:
03:42:24:Unit 01:Project: 6502 (Run 19, Clone 561, Gen 84)
03:33:34:Received Unit: id:01 state:DOWNLOAD project:6502 run:19 clone:561 gen:84 core:0x78

Are either of these preferable to the Mods, or are neither preferable? Would consistency between the log format and the "list of reported WUs" help?

Thanks

GW

When searching for data on a specific WU, we prefer the data in the form shown in the log (either V6 or V7 is fine). The "P6502,R19,C561,G84" format is less desirable.

When we enter it in either of those formats and stop a WU, the transaction reports back with the string I copied above (including the "P6502,R19,C561,G84" format) and we just quote that.

No mod will ever request this format: "P6502,R19,C561,G84"

As bruce noted, copy and paste from the log file to this forum. This is the easiest method to move data, and assures no typos.
Project: 6502 (Run 4, Clone 559, Gen 71) has been the accepted format for the last 10 years.
project:6502 run:4 clone:559 gen:71 seems to be the new format in V7.
I don't like the new format because it doesn't show hierarchy, but whatever. These two formats work in the Mod search tool, so that is what they prefer.

The results they post back in the forum are simply a function of how the database query results were formatted.

Probably wouldn't hurt to ask the query result format be updated to a common format, but that would be a very low priority. Stuff that doesn't work gets attention before stuff that does. ;)
