When I go to view the display, the windows appears and a brief image flashes within the window and then the entire display windows goes black. I have tried running the program as an administrator but the problem persisted.

Are we talking about the viewer here?
If so, it is notoriously buggy and a resource hog. So it's best to not use it, FAH wil work without the viewer being active.

The NV GPU client available to download from NV and Stanford has an improved viewer for use with NV hardware. You might try that one if not using it already.
