Project due date
How do I know when my project is due if I do not know the exact date (not down to the day, so definately not to the hour) that I downloaded the work unit?
The link here (starts with fah-web(dot)stanford(dot)edu/cgi-bin/fahproject.overusingIPswillbebanned?p=3457) seems to show how much time I have total to complete the project (including used time). Or does it say how much time I have left?
If it says how much total time I have, is there any other way to find out how much time I have left?

Re: Project due date
Use a monitoring program like HFM.net or FohMon to monitor your clients and they will tell you exactly when the deadline is as well as when it is expected that you will finish the current wu. They are both listed in the Third Party software section of these forums.
Re: Project due date
Method 1: Most people download one of the monitoring programs from the 3rd party tools section of the forum. Check the tools list for more information.
Method 2: The "official" method is to run the client with the -queueinfo parameter. That will tell you when you downloaded the WU but you have to stop FAH and then restart it.
Method 3: Look at the dates of the files in the /work subdirectory. (Do not change any of these files.) Use the Date/Time of the most recent file called wuinfo_xx.dat.
For method 2 or 3, add the deadline information to the date/time that you obtained. The deadlines can be found on psummary.

Re: Project due date
You should look at the unitinfo.txt file :
Current Work Unit
-----------------
Name: Gromacs
Tag: P6900R12C20G20
Download time: January 22 11:53:20
Due time: January 28 11:53:20
Progress: 56% [|||||_____]

It's in the folder along with the client, core, etc.Alphaprime11 wrote:Where can I find this unitinfo.txt file?

Actually it's in the folder along with Fahlog.txt, the Work subdirectory, the Fahcores, etc. (Whether or not the client is located there depends on the installation.)Zagen30 wrote:It's in the folder along with the client, core, etc.Alphaprime11 wrote:Where can I find this unitinfo.txt file?

Re: Project due date
I think the easiest way is just to go to the F@H icon in your taskbar and right click it. Then go to Status and to Queue Info. When you click on that it will give the same info as toTow said pretty much along with the server IP's for the WU you are currently working on.
Unless you are using the console client which I don't know if it would have an icon on your taskbar while it's working.

The console client doesn't have an icon in systray, it has a text window which may appear on the taskbar and it shows the most recent portions of FAHlog.txt so it probably wouldn't have the information he's looking for.Baowoulf wrote:Unless you are using the console client which I don't know if it would have an icon on your taskbar while it's working.

Re: Project due date
HFM.NET provides the information you're looking for. It can also upload the data to an FTP site so you can keep tabs on progress while you're away from your computer. Click the "Folding status" link in my signature for an example.

Re: Project due date
To my knowledge it is impossible to view this kind of data on a PS3 (even the PRCG isn't possible anymore), but I thought most WU will only have a due time of 48 hours.
Which is reasonable considering it takes about 6 hours to complete one.

Re: Project due date
The PS3 log files are indeed not viewable. Most PS3 projects have a 3 day preferred/6 day final deadline.
