You are using the GPU2 Client which is v6.23 while the GPU3 is v6.31/v6.32. For your GPU, either Client can work (in theory at least).

Regarding the CPU usage of FahCore_11, it varies from system to system but generally speaking, Nvidia GPUs use the least amount of CPU cycles.

For checking the GPU usage, can you download GPU-Z and under the Sensors tab, check the GPU Load.

Finally, you have stated that you have added -forcegpu nvidia_g80 but I can't view it in the FAHlog. If you use any arguments, it should appear like this:

That message is common and after it you should see a message of completed 1% How long that 1% takes is dependent on the GPU. Is GPU-Z registering any activity for the GPU? If so, then how much activity and what are the Core, Shader, Memory frequencies?

but that's the problem no matter how long i leave it it never gets to that point where it shows te h% complete and yes gpu-z shows 98% usage etc... very odd

Also posted above, the -forcegpu nvidia_g80 flag is not shown in the log file. It should be showing there if it has been added. Do you have your flags entered through the config, or do you put them into a desktop shortcut? I have heard of people having problems with them not working properly when entered during the config.

I have read a few reports where it took more than 1 hour to complete a single frame. Have you tried running the GPU Client overnight? Also, what are the values of Core, Shaders, Memory when the GPU is having a load of ~98%? Also, in the first post, the screenshot indicated that it resumed working, but it never reached a percentage

This looks OK. Also, the -forcegpu flag overrides 'Gpu species not recognized.'

Since your card (8500 GT) has only 16 shaders it will be very slow. I agree with PantherX - let it fold overnight and see what happens.

Add both -forcegpu and -advmethods along with the -verbosity flag. Post a new copy of the FAHlog.

One more thing for a visual cue of whether or not the client is actually running. Download a program like MSI Afterburner or EVGA Precision and have it running when you have the client running. If it shows that there is GPU Usage then it's running. Hopefully it shows 90-99% usage if everything is working properly.
