The log clearly shows the passkey was present at time of download.

Your log might, but the server didn't that was the problem. Also,

I can change from what ever smp number I choose at anytime I feel like it, that has nothing to do with the fact that this wu did indeed have a passkey present when downloaded. There was nothing wrong on my end of this, it's on Stanford's end, period. I should get credited with the proper points or a least an acknowledgment of their server failure.

@PG,
Why can't we simply say "our bad" and sorry. I know it happens from time to time but it is network issues where the Passkey is concerned. IME it happens because of Overloaded servers. We should try to refrain from Flaming contributers that are already having a bad streak with PG servers. Just 'pony up' and say "OOPS, we're sorry but we are doing the best we can with what we've got. And thanks for your patience and contribution!"

It's really not so hard to do. It'd sure pibs off a lot less people.

@KRAM...Also, I change -SMP (X) on my I7 all the time in the middle of WU's without a problem that I've noticed. The only thing I've found is that a WU will Fail to complete sometimes, but this is clearly not the case here. If however the User name or Team Number is changed in the middle of a WU, you may not get bonus. Could this have been the case?

And I can turn on and off the breaker at the power main to shut down my computer, but that's not recommended either.

As you wish... Their server failed. You won't get bonus points. Read the terms of the bonus program. Receiving a bonusis not guaranteed. Sorry.

And changing -SMP settings might have contributed to that problem. So again, it's not recommended, but feel free to engage in whatever risky behaviour you want. ;)

Fold on.

IDK, besides all the changes KRAM made during the processing of the WU it's strange that he did the same WU twice in a row from the same client.

Hi KRAM (team 111065),
Your WU (P2686 R3 C1 G46) was added to the stats database on 2010-12-12 09:05:58 for 8955 points of credit.

He got bonus points the second time. :?

Is that odd? I have no idea if it is or not? Here is the continuation of that same log file showing that I did get assigned that same wu. I was having really bad internet connection problems at the end of Sunday all the way until Wednesday. Had Road Runner come out this morning to check things and they did some line work and installed a new cable modem. With my job I just wasn't available for them to fix it during the week as I get home too late this time of year. That's why you see it not being able to send the wu at the end of the log file. Had three of my systems running -bigadv wu suffer on time due to my internet issues.

As you wish... Their server failed. You won't get bonus points. Read the terms of the bonus program. Receiving a bonusis not guaranteed. Sorry.

And changing -SMP settings might have contributed to that problem. So again, it's not recommended, but feel free to engage in whatever risky behaviour you want. ;)

Fold on.
According to kasson "It's passkey at time of assign rather than return that matters" so changing the smp number should not have resulted in the no bonus issue. The log file clearly shows the passkey was found at time of assignment of the wu.
kasson wrote:We're sorry, but the server records show no passkey at the time of WU assign. It's passkey at time of assign rather than return that matters. This work unit is therefore not eligible for a bonus. This decision is final.
This wu is from my personal system, it was the weekend and I had other things I wanted to do on this pc. I needed the cpu power so I would cut down the number of cores/threads. I have done this before without issues or effecting my bonus. I have two other i7 rigs dedicated to -bigadv that I do not change the smp number on. It's only my personal system when I need to use the cpu power. That's the whole reason I just got the 980X cpu for my personal rig, so I would not have to fully stop the client when I needed to use the cpu for other things.
