I have a small suggestion for either the psummary or project description pages, indicating how many runs there are clones/run and gens/clone so we can roughly see how far along a project is when we get one of its WU.

Re: Suggestion
I'm not sure I understand your request. Most projects start out with a number of runs and a number of clones. There may be an estimate for how many gens will be required to completely fold the protein but fundamentally this number is unknown.butc8 wrote:I have a small suggestion for either the psummary or project description pages, indicating how many runs there are clones/run and gens/clone so we can roughly see how far along a project is when we get one of its WU.

If a project runs into some strange conditions, it may also be necessary to create more runs and/or more clones to gather enough data for a good scientific conclusion.
Please read the WIKI: Runs, Clones and Gens. Then if you want to try your request again maybe I'll understand what you mean.

Re: Suggestion
I just wanted to know how many runs, clones, gens are allocated to pxxxx, but since its likely to change its pointless.bruce wrote:There may be an estimate for how many gens will be required to completely fold the protein but fundamentally this number is unknown.butc8 wrote:I have a small suggestion for either the psummary or project description pages, indicating how many runs there are clones/run and gens/clone so we can roughly see how far along a project is when we get one of its WU.

Re: Suggestion
Scientists are searching for answers, and they doing whatever they know to expand their knowledge of what they learned to other scientists. So they create as many runs to fully understand the folding process. Their is no set limit to clones/run and gens/clone. Once they know what has been accomplish, they write a paper in a scientist's journal, explaining what they learned, for other scientists interested in furthering the science more, to do more research.butc8 wrote:I just wanted to know how many runs, clones, gens are allocated to pxxxx, but since its likely to change its pointless.bruce wrote:There may be an estimate for how many gens will be required to completely fold the protein but fundamentally this number is unknown.butc8 wrote:I have a small suggestion for either the psummary or project description pages, indicating how many runs there are clones/run and gens/clone so we can roughly see how far along a project is when we get one of its WU.
