Okay Tom, you have now successfully intimidated me by posting all this data  However, the relevant information that I can find is: (Copy & Paste)
OS - Windows Version Microsoft Windows 7 (6.1) Home Premium Edition (Build 7600) {inferred that it should be 64 bit based on the RAM}
GPU* - NVIDIA GeForce 8400 GS
RAM - max capacity 8192 MBytes
CPU - AMD Athlon(tm) II X4 620 Processor clock speed 2600.0 MHz
MOBO - ASUSTeK Computer INC. M4A78T-E Rev 1.xx

* I did a quick search of the Motherboard and came across this so can you please confirm that it is the correct one. If so then have you installed a sperate Nvidia GPU? If that is the case, then you have tow GPUs:
GPU 0 - Integrated ATI GPU Radeon™ HD 3300 GPU
GPU 1 - Nvidia GeForce 8400 GS

You have 2 PCI-E Slots so you can install another GPU to fold. However, I am not sure if you can run 2 Nvidia GPUs in SLI as the motherboard is for CrossFireX

Regarding posting the picture, here is the steps:
Step 1: Run CPU-Z and leave it open
Step 2: Press the "Print Screen" Button on your keyboard
Step 3: Open Paint
Step 4: In the Home Ribbon, Click "Paste" OR press "Ctrl + V"
Step 5: Save the picture in jpeg format in an easy-to-find location and remember its name (I prefer to save it on the desktop so it is easy to find)
Step 6: Go to ImageShack and upload the image by selecting it from your computer (No registration required)
Step 7: You get the URLs and paste them here for us to get it.

Some examples from Google Image:

I wish I knew what an 8400 GS was, but I will stay away form it whenever I come across it.

Please fell free to delete my huge post.

I just need to make sure that v6.30 SMP client is infact a 64 bit program. my machine is a a64 bit machine and I was told that to run a 32 bit program on a 64 bit machine is a recapie for disaster

Thew Motherboard your suspect is the one exactally...I have the users guide.
Here are all seven screens of CPU-Z. Except thet are so small how can you see them
You see if I can be told by the numbers I can do it!
I have found 6.3 and am studying the directions. Tomorrow I plan to download and install it.
Thank you for all your help, hopefully by tomorrow night I will be fording again!

Additional
I don't get it Additional Client Parameters [ ] (flags?)
Why wouldn't you want it to launch automatically?
IP address to bind core to (for viewer) ? Would that be someting from my internet provider?
I guessI will wait for an answer to these questons before I move on...

additional client parameters will be the -smp (this is also called a flag, it tells the client what extra to do)
launching automatically is fine, but some people want to launch it manually (like me)
IP address is only for proxy settings, you will not need it so leave it empty

Whoever told you that doesn't know what he's talking about.

MOST current applications running on 64-bit Windows are 32-bit apps. They run just fine. OTOH, there are a FEW older 32-bit apps (and MANY 16-bit apps) that won't run on a 64-bit OS. Also, many utilities must be specifically designed to run on 64-bit OSes.

MANY people run 32-bit operating systems on 64-bit machines. They also run just fine.

Virtually all mainstream computers sold today are based on 64-bit CPUs that will easily run either 32- or 64-bit OSes and apps.

-verbosity 9 is also a good flag to use, because it puts more information in the log that is useful for troubleshooting.

Regarding the "small size" it is actually called a thumbnail and if you click it, it enlarges so you can read it with easy depending on the picture resolution, which in your case is 1440*900 a widescreen monitor. Also you uploaded the CPU-Z Cache twice thus you missed the first screen (don't worry, we have your system details)

Regarding the flags/switches, a list is available here, however you only need to enter these in the F@H SMP2 F@H Client v6.30 like this:
-verbosity 9 -smp
Note that there is a space is important. However, you can also do it another way through shortcut (details)

Adding to what jrweiss said about 32 and 64 bit OS; A 64 bit OS has "part of 32 bit OS". By that I mean that there are 2 Program Files in 64 bit OS:
C:\Program Files
C:\Program Files (x86)
The first is for native 64 bit applications while the second is for 32 bit applications. Out of a total ~100 softwares (no games) that I have, only 1 didn't run on 64 bit when I changed from 32 to 64 bit. That is 99% program compatibility for me :D

Those folders are for Microsoft's housekeeping purposes only. You can actually install apps to any folder you want. Personally, I install apps to totally different folders (C:\Apps and C:\Utils) to better track what is intentionally installed and what is added in "behind the scenes."

This is all very complex for a novice like me; I just want it to work.

As for additional parameters setting I would guess that –smp is the correct setting; OK?

I guess I will just use verbosity 9 for my flag setting; OK?

And because I thing (mistakenly or not) that launching automatically is best for that I should insert yes; OK?

Would it help if I were to set that available memory to [2000] or half of what is available; OK?

Ok here goes…where will the problems be now? I can not thank you enough for all your wonderful help

The fah6 when run doesn’6t have any of the changes I made to it. It doesn’t have my username or the -smp and I cannot copy it or add to it, it appears to be read only

The file fah6 configonly –smp cannot be found anymore

It seems that the more I mess with this program the more it gets messed up!

I don't see any problems here- all of those warnings about things like "Core not found" or "Work directory not found" are because it's a new installation, and the client has created/downloaded the appropriate things.

Now, you didn't add the -smp flag, or if you did, the client doesn't think so. Arguments, or flags, appear in the log right under the "Executable:" line, and the log doesn't have anything there. As a result, you've gotten a uniprocessor WU. If you add the -smp flag then, when this WU finishes, the client should grab SMP Work Units from there on out. You'll be able to tell because the core that will be used is FahCore_a3.

As for memory, I would give it access to as much as you have. It won't actually use that much (far from it- at most probably around 100 MB), but there's little downside to letting it have access to everything.

There seems to be some confusion about the memory setting.

The memory setting merely tells the server that you have enough memory to run certain work units.

The memory setting does not control how much memory is used.

Configuring "Memory, in MB, to indicate" too low can keep you from receiving work.

This setting corresponds with the "Memory" column on the server status page.

Additional parameters should be -smp -verbosity 9

The "additional parameters" box is simply a convenient place to put any flags that apply to all instances in the installation, so you don't have to put any command line flags in the shortcut.

When you need to reconfigure, you can then start the executable from a Command Prompt box with the -configonly flag. That allows the second instance to rune even if it is already running. You have to go through all the prompts and use the Enter key to exit; otherwise the changes will not be saved. Also, you have to restart the client to have any changes take effect.

Depending on your security/permissions setup, you may have to check the box on all shortcuts (including the Command Prompt shortcut you use to configure it) that says "Run as Administrator" (Right-click, Properties, Shortcut, Advanced).

"Launching Automatically" will allow the client to run as a Service. Say No until you have it all configured and running as you like. Then run with the -configonly flag once more, say Yes to the "Run Automatically" prompt, and reboot the computer. Make sure you delete any shortcut you may have put in your Start Menu Startup list.

I use 2048 for the Memory Available and enable Big work units and Advanced Methods; that combination works fine. If you don't want to risk it using that much RAM, then set it to 1024 or 1536 and just use Normal work unit size.

This configuration item will not limit the amount of RAM used.

I do not seem to be able to make any changes anymore. It would seem that the best thing to do would be to uninstall the program from my machine then reinstall it...agreed?
Or is there something that I am missing?
Oh I also wanted to ask where you install the passkey
I am keeping notes and records of all your instructions.
