171.64.65.83 in Reject Mode

Post by Cajun_Don »

I have 5 PS3 that can not connect to server. This is not good for science and a total waste of energy.

Just like last time, I will turn off my PS3s for a few days, and save on my huge power bill.

Have a great day.

I've just sent a mail to Vijay. Unfortunately, I don't have Ed's personal mail (he's the one in charge of the server) but Vijay will find someone who'll restart it.

Anyone awake on this (otherwise) pleasant Sunday morning?

This server is in REJECT status and has been for some time. :o

All of my PS3's are idle once again. :e( <--that's "sad" not "mad". :ewink:

Please help!

Thank you.

John

Thanks. This machine is down for some maintenance. I think it will likely be back up later today (Sunday).

This server has been in reject mode for almost 24-hours. Since there are very few servers for the PS3, this huge issues when there is an outage.

171.64.65.96

Post by lanbrown »

Since 8/21 the 171.64.65.96 server has had a high CPU and net load. This caused hardly any WU's to be assigned to PS'3 in general over the weekend when 171.64.65.83 was down. Can someone look into why 171.64.65.96 has has issues for the last 9-days; usually clients never get assigned to it unless 171.64.65.83 is down. Even today the CPU and net load is high and the PS3's are using the 171.64.65.83 for WU's. Shouldn't the load of have gone once that server was restored? Shouldn't the load have gone up when the 171.64.65.83 went down? Neither was the case and indicates an underlying issue.

I'll see if I can find an answer to the NET LOAD question. The CPU LOAD may or may not be related. (e.g. - The researcher may be doing analysis of results at a lower priority than the processes that manage WU assignments.)

171.64.65.83

Here we are AGAIN, that server goes into reject mode and the only other server (171.64.65.96) that has WU's for the PS3 is still not issuing them; just like it hasn't since August 21st. The CPU and net load are both very high and thus the server gives "server busy" to the PS3 client. This is the same exact scenario that was experienced a few weeks back.

Once again we have the same scenario we did a few weeks back. 171.64.65.83 is in "reject" and this server is too busy to issue any WU's and no WU's have been issued in at least a month from this server. Is the research important to the researcher? if so, his server needs to be available as currently, his research is not going anywhere. If it isn't, then another project should be found for the PS3's.

See viewtopic.php?f=24&p=158196#p158196

Maintenance seems to have been completed shortly thereafter at about 6:10 Sunday morning, Stanford time.

It still doesn't fix the single sever for WU issues. Same issue in the past few weeks.
