Your original plan to run for 1 hour and check the official stats would not have worked. All points are calculated when a finished WU is uploaded, not on a real-time basis. (If a WU that takes a couple of days to complete finishes or does not finish during that particular hour, it would make a big difference in your calculations.)

The only information you can gather from a 1 hour test is what appears in your log so the new plan is a good one. That also allows you to exclude segments of the log which are not representative of the conditions that you're trying to test, like when one client finishes a WU and starts a new one.

You should also note that the first 1% may not be a full 1%, depending on the condition of the WU during a previous shutdown. Just exclude that fractional frame.
