- stopped Linux SMP w. HT on i7-860@3.5 GHz
....................................
Folded since 10-06-04 till 09-2010
Currently running this WU on a dual xeon using win 7 pro. It's at 47% and due to finish mid morning(EST) Sunday. Will let you know if it finishes and uploads.
Did you do a fresh 6.30 install? Also if you are Vista, I had to go into the system and disable the MPICH service. Hope this helps.
.
From what my friends told me, they completely cleared out the Windows system (non-Vista) and installed 6.30
So, none of the above is the cause of this ...

- stopped Linux SMP w. HT on i7-860@3.5 GHz
....................................
Folded since 10-06-04 till 09-2010
Not sure if it has any bearing on the aforementioned failure of this WU but mine is taking ~3.17 gig of ram using -smp 15 and still running.
As to not being able to get a new WU have they tried going into the config and changing MachineID to a different number but still unique to that compuer?
Since it is announced that P2682 WUs have been replaced by P2692 WUs, (link & link) are we allowed to delete the WU if it's P2682 and move on? Or do we continue to fold it?
ETA:
Now ↞ Very Soon ↔ Soon ↔ Soon-ish ↔ Not Soon ↠ End Of Time
This WU completed successfully, uploaded and credit, including bonus, has been received. The system immediately download a new WU and is processing it now.
This doesn't explain why another volunteer had problems with the WU but does suggest that there's nothing wrong with it, at least not on the system here.
Were they using a 64-bit o/s? Do they have more than 4gig of ram?
