Problem with Folder's points
One of the members of my team has got an issue with his points. His account has been split into 2 different entries on the daily_user_summary.txt file from Stanford:
egerds 1347922 2115 37726
egerds 773324 1833 37726
Stanford's stas have got two entries; same name and same team number:
http://fah-web.stanford.edu/cgi-bin/mai ... mnum=37726 (~1.3mil pts)
http://fah-web.stanford.edu/cgi-bin/mai ... 0AsFvv.evx (~770k pts)
Yet EOC shows the toal of both entries:
http://folding.extremeoverclocking.com/ ... =&u=486367
Can this be sorted out? Pretty please?

Re: Problem with Folder's points
No, that's not the issue. I'm aware there are stats for another team, but there are two sets of stats for team 37726 too... I would like those stats combined.

Re: Problem with Folder's points
That's...probably not going to happen. As a rule the Pande Group doesn't combine stats for any reason. I have no idea why the official stats are generating two separate logs while the third-party stats combine them. I'd say tell egerds to re-enter his name in all of his clients to see if that fixes the issue. If egerds can fix the issue on his end (or at least convince the stat servers to credit everything to one name), then in the long run the points from the mistake entry will be minimal compared to his overall total.
Re: Problem with Folder's points
Everything is going to one name now, so that issue has been resolvoled, but there are still ~770k points not being creditted on Stanford's stats.
And as for not combining stats for any reason, then that needs to be looked at. This is a perfectly legitimate reason to ask for the stats to be combined.

Re: Problem with Folder's points
Oh, thanks for that link.
So the name and team number in both links are the same, yet the points are seperated. I don't even know what would cause something like this to happen (and it's not new; it's been happening for a few months).

Re: Problem with Folder's points
One possibility is there was a character at the end of egerds that wasn't printable or displayable but made the name unique so the official stats were seperated but the 3rd party stats ignored that character and did the combine.

This seems like the most likely scenario.bollix47 wrote:One possibility is there was a character at the end of egerds that wasn't printable or displayable but made the name unique so the official stats were seperated but the 3rd party stats ignored that character and did the combine.

Re: Problem with Folder's points
The account was not split. egerds simply used 2 different user names in the past. The date of last work unit on the 2nd instance of egerds is 2010-04-24 15:02:55. The first instance has a more recent date.
At some point, egerds user name was entered as an email address... egerds@somthing...com
Stanford chops off the @something...com for privacy, so while it looks like a duplicate name, it really isn't. Note the difference in the URLs below for the 2 egerds user names...
http://fah-web.stanford.edu/cgi-bin/mai ... ame=egerds
http://fah-web.stanford.edu/cgi-bin/mai ... sFvv%2Eevx
And as noted above, Stanford does not combine stats as a policy. Sorry. EOC stats does a manual combination, so use that site to track the stats instead.

Re: Problem with Folder's points
Ah, I see. Well, that seems the most likely reason then.
Thank you for clearing that up.
