It's PeerBlock now, and yea if u choose to include .EDU domains in the block list it WILL block Stanford/F@H, so many IP's to whitelist for Stanford so ur better off NOT checking off .EDU domains in PeerBlock if u want to use F@H

I don't run PeerBlock, or any network related software at all apart from my browser and Windows Defender/Firewall. Even so that wouldn't explain why I can't accesss stanford.edu on any devices, even the PS3.

Okay, not PeerBlock, so it has to be something else. You're on the right track to find the answer. Keep investigating.

Technical miracle? Not likely, but it's good it works again. Too bad we didn't figure it out. It would help to know how to prevent it, fix it, and potentially help others as well. Oh well.

Did you configure opendns or do something similar? It really sounds like your ISPs DNS isn't getting updated correctly and you're probably depending only on it. What are the DNS settings in your router?

Next time it happens instead of this:
http://www.stanford.edu/~friedrim/.Fold ... ay-632.msi

try this:
http://171.67.216.13/~friedrim/.Folding ... ay-632.msi

For this download it would bypass any DNS problems you are having, and just go directly to Stanford's server.

You could also add that info to the hosts file on your computer, so it bypasses DNS. ;)
