Poll doesn't work...I can only cast one vote for multiple bigadv machines. For example I have two 2p units...

Judging from (a somewhat faulty) memory of things donors have said about their systems, FAH does have both private donors who spend a lot of money on their farms (whether that's exclusively for FAH or for other purposes isn't documented either). FAH also gets contributions from private donors who may own private business with lots of big-iron or from private donors who have permission from their employer to use the employer's hardware. Even if you were able to get good statistics, I'm not sure that the "private donors" distinction is a clear as it may seem to you.

This probably doesn't apply to you, but if you started with an assumed answer and a desire to prove that theory correct, you wouldn't be the first person who unintenonally shades the data. When you start excluding data, you have to either accept all data or at least have a clear distinction between what's going to be excluded and what is going to be included and why.

For years, medical studies were done by men and the test subjects were men. Now researchers are repeating some studies to see if by excluding women, the conclusions were biased.
Thanks Bruce for commenting. There is some interesting info from your (somewhat faulty) memory. :D

About biasing, I wouldn't exclude any donor intentionally as it wouldn't be fair, as I said before, but obviously precise info is unavailable and someone searching and analyzing heap-loads of data would be too much distracted from doing science.

I know. :( I was thinking of a way to implement it better, but can't see one. Anyway, you can check farm and state your specs if you like.

Two more ways:
2) Other users can vote for the individual requiring that vote. (I assume that single users can choose multiple options and are willing to "share votes")
3) Make duplicate entries for that choice. (there are only 3 more options left)

For choice 1, the other vote should quote the original request so that it may not be accidentally selected more than the actual figure. With Choice 2, it will work with 2/3 entries but with multiple similar entries, Choice 1 can then be applied.

3rd option was my first idea, but with only 10 choices it was inapplicable. I think choosing farm is the best and I'll collect all farm entries and add 'em up and display numbers at OP.

The way you have the poll set up now it looks more as an AMD vs. Intel instead of 1p vs. 2,4,8p as the above quote reads.

If I may be allowed to make a suggestion I would have broke it down like this:
1p
2p
2x2p
3x2p
4p
2x4p
3x4p
8p
2x8p
Farm

For Farm and more than 2x8p they could post their numbers as you said. With the 1p selection it would cover Intel's i7 and AMD's Magny Cours.

Now you would have a hardware natural poll.

In addition to orion's suggestion, you could give a brief description like:

1p (Intel i7 & AMD)
2p (Intel & AMD)
2x2p (Intel & AMD)
3x2p (Intel & AMD)
4p (Intel & AMD)
2x4p (Intel & AMD)
3x4p (Intel & AMD)
8p (Intel & AMD)
2x8p (Intel & AMD)
Farm (Intel & AMD)

If that is too much text, then in the original post, you may want to clarify that: (makes it easier to the new user to judge)

1p = 1 socket motherboard with Intel Core i7 CPUs or AMD CPUs
2p = 2 Sockets motherboard with any Intel/AMD CPUs
2x2p = 4 Sockets motherboard with any Intel/AMD CPUs
3x2p = 6 Sockets motherboard with any Intel/AMD CPUs
4p = 4 Sockets motherboard with any Intel/AMD CPUs
2x4p = 8 Sockets motherboard with any Intel/AMD CPUs
3x4p = 12 Sockets motherboard with any Intel/AMD CPUs
8p = 8 Sockets motherboard with any Intel/AMD CPUs
2x8p = 16 Sockets motherboard with any Intel/AMD CPUs
Farm = Your specifications of the Folding Farm

Note: I am sure that I messed up the 2X8p and others in the description as I am not aware of them so do correct them.

We really don't need to add AMD or Intel since those are the only two CPU manufactures that make cpu's that can run -bigadv.

People who vote will now that.

I appreciate the suggestions and I would change, but what will happen to already submitted votes? How do I keep them connected to right choices?

Don't think you can, so best to stick with what you have and factor in the 'issues', or ask everyone to vote again..
Oh and just 1 i7920 for me at present, although another one soonish.
