I've been working as a software developer for 2.5 years since graduating from college (including Java) and recently finished an internship at a financial startup in Manhattan. I've realized that I'd like to get involved in computational biology if at all possible - I find it very exciting, and much of that excitement is due to the introduction I've received from F@H.
I've sent my resume to a few places, including:
Computational Biology Center at Memorial Sloan Kettering (http://cbio.mskcc.org/)
NYU Bioinformatics Lab (http://bioinformatics.nyu.edu/wordpress/)
I'm also going to send it to a similar center at Columbia.
However, I realize that these are very long shots because I'm not a grad student and they don't hire too many people. I'm somebody with a startup background and a lot of enthusiasm. Any suggestions for other kinds of places I could look at?
