How to completly remove F@H from my computer

Its not that i do not want to help but the computer that someone has loaded this program onto, needs to have it removed. I will load in on another computer but at this time, I have uninstalled the program and yet the stats Up loader still pops up. It is irritating and I'm assuming its not part of the original program. I have tried everything that I can think of to remove it and have come up empty. If someone else has any suggestions on removing it please let me know via a post.

There is no "stats loader" included in folding@home. So, that would be a 3rd party program. Could you specify the name of the program? most of these programs use the startup folder, so if you delete the shortcut the program won't run. When looking for the shortcut, make sure you look both in your personal startup folder and the all-users startup folder.

That won't get rid of the program but may stop it from running. I assume that the program is not in add and remove programs. So if you find the shortcut you can look at the shortcut to find where the program is located at. Once you have ID'ed the location, delete that folder.

Ok i found where it is. It is located in the same spot the uninstall for F@H was located. There are 2 folders labeled 1 and 2. One of these is empty and the other has stats uploader.exe and a bunch of other documents. It only says Folding@Home Stats Uploader as the name. The folder wont be deleted said that it is running in another program just gives me the option to try again or cancel.

You can't delete a program that's running.

I'm not familiar with Stats Uploader, but look first in the uninstaller section and see if it's listed.

If not, the second option is to determine the actual program name so you can kill it before you delete it. Does it show up in TaskManager? What are the other filenames you see there?

Third, though it's messier, you can restart in safe mode, which probably won't start uploader.exe. Delete the directory and restart normally.

In cases 2 and 3, there will be something left over somewhere that will try to start uploader.exe when you reboot, but since the program will be gone, it shouldn't cause any problems.
