Power setting i already changed as i thought that may have been it - no screensaver set.

ATI Overdrive is telling my that temp is 35c with fans at 40% activity is 0% this dosnt sound right if im useing the GPU version, and task manager tells me 0% - 10% used always changing tho but mainly 0% and 1.5gb mem used

I have a feeling tis is not right, the way i work it there should be activity on my graphocs card? or am i missing something silly?

also i have £300 away for it i hell aint paying £300 tho, i think i will be bout £150 -/+ £25 maybe even £200MAX - Frys in US already taking pre orders for it at $299 and apparently there be in stock 2moz for them lucky B's
To monitor your progress use either Fahmon or HFm.net

http://code.google.com/p/hfm-net/ or http://fahmon.net/.

It sounds like some isn't right with your GPU settings, please can you post a copy of the Fahlog.txt file for you gpu. press the code button thats about the reply post and paste the contents of the log in between the tags

Maybe for a new PSU as well? I agree with Nathan, you have a very capable system, many people folding with significantly less, still it is fun to have new hardware 8-) We have no idea how well the new hexacore will fold, but probably pretty good for SMPs.
I'm gonna replace my athlon 620 with one if the price is good - those athlon's can't keep up with the bigger quads on A3, On A1 & A2 they are good but on A3 mine struggles

Will thishave anything to do with it? "C:\Program Files (x86)\Folding@home\Folding@home-gpu\Folding@home.exe" -forcegpu ati_r600 Just changes to -forcegpu ati_r700 to see if that affects anything.

If i dont have the last bit it dosnt work.

Edit - -forcegpu ati_r700 didnt change anything i still see it doing thinks in the viewer but no log file, im now going to reinstall it see if that affects it.

If you want to view information about your GPU, then I recommend that you use GPU-Z as it will tell your almost every detail of your GPU. You have to look into the sensors tab to get the GPU load, Memory used, Temperature, Fan speed, etc. (http://www.techpowerup.com/downloads/17 ... 0.4.2.html)

If the message appears that no log is found, than there is a problem with your installation. If you have installed in the Program Files, then cut paste the folder to C drive or some other drive and then make a shortcut to the desktop. An add this flag:
-verbosity 9
Instructions are here if needed (http://fahwiki.net/index.php/How_do_I_a ... _client%3F)

You mentioned an interest in SMP so here Is the guide that I followed without any problems (until the part where I had to change the folder in CLI so I improvised and got it all running) Here is the link but as kiore pointed out, it is better to start off with easy clients, know how they function and then move on to the BETA ones. Hopefully, PG will be releasing a new SMP2 Client that will forfeit the use of CLI and will me much easier to run.

Done as you said and moved the folder to c:/ and downloaded gpu-z its now showing 90%load in gpu-z after i moved it to c:/ and added the -forcegpu ati_r700 -verbosity 9 tp the target. and i also have a log file :D

also ATI Ovrdrive shows a load of 90% also

Looks to me like that got it working :D yay

Im going to set up a paskey and get that sorted :)

Log file so far

There is the option of adding the log file yet is doesn't make your post extra long. You can use the Code button

Code: Select all

Your F@H log will appear like this and won't make your post long.
