When a server is in REJECT, people cannot upload to it nor can they download from it. Now that it's accepting uploads, there will be some WUs to distribute, but if there are not enough to supply everybody's requests, you still may not get work. Please see viewtopic.php?f=24&t=14255

That may not be your problem, though. It's strange that something is being downloaded (Downloaded at ~484 kB/s . . . + Received work.) but it isn't recognized as a WU. (- Attempt #* to get work failed, and no other work to do).
