Shows you on 3 teams with FTL at zero points. Both your current team and the default team show points.

Were you referring to a 3rd party stats site? If it was EOC then Jason did do a purge recently of FTL and I don't see you listed on the default team there but he may have a minimum number of points before they show up.

Anyway, looks like you're good. :e?:

Yeah, that's the one. I couldn't find it anywhere. How did you find it?

Looks like I posted all this for nothing now.

The default team is the 2nd one down. (isn't it?)

I clicked on the Official Stats link at the top of any forum page and then clicked on Donor Statistics, entered cdb and clicked on search. :ewink:

Yes, 2nd one in Team section.

Here's a link to a post on my team forum I made in 2004. Unfortunately some of the links in the thread go back to the defunct Folding Support Forum but The MacRumours link is still there and gives you an insight into the mind of a cheat.

Is this just coincidence as I've never seen this core before.

I've just had Norton Internet security flag up fahcore_b4 and delete it for suspicious activity. I've never even heard of that core before.

That guy was the original sinner, quite possibly the start of this whole sorry affair.

I always wondered what happened to him. Whether he rejoined our community under a different name as a reformed character.

Thanks for the link, that was an interesting read. I worked for the government, in IT before I retired. What that guy was doing was totally illegal and violated quite a few rules regardless of fact he supposedly got "permission"; which I am fairly certain he did not.

Actually his story about working for the government was a lie what he did was make a virus that would install folding@home that was configured with his user name and team number on peoples computers. He put the virus in a fake game crack and uploaded it onto P2P networks. Then when people downloaded the game crack and opened it, it would infect there computers and their computers would start folding for him without there knowledge. He was nothing but a liar and cheat.

I believe it was determined to be (JT_Trojan) a Trojan not a virus in other words a malicious script.

Stop spreading FUD! :D IIRC (although, I had no hands on code, obviously), the crack had (has?) provided "Accept" button. Client was downloaded from Stanford, and the only (although, that was) EULA violation was crafting 'client.cfg'.
toTOW wrote: But someone else might also picked the same user name as yours ... it can happen if it is fairly common.
"Charles Douglas Brown"? "Clint David Bennet"? IMO that's most probably what happened.
toTOW wrote: I don't think they'll zero user total scores, only their illegal contributions.
I think, that they (who they could be?) zeroed FTL once the very last time and now don't count those contributions at all. Although, I believe, those contributions are accepted.

Misinformed is not the same as spreading FUD. For example, clients that have been identified as malicious borgs are sent a signal to stop requesting work units. With no more work units, there can be no more contribution, and so there is nothing to accept from those borgs any longer.

Pande Group is not so hypocritical as to zero points but continue to allow work to be submitted. Not like most corporations these days, where their management does the cost analysis of paying for the lawyers and lawsuits, which they somehow evaluate as being as cheaper than fixing exploding gas tanks or fixing faulty brakes and faulty gas pedals. But I suppose I'm just spreading more FUD too. ;)

A-ha! Then conspiracy theorists are defeated! Again! (who that could be? me?) Then there's a signal "to stop requesting work units". Pleased to know. What else signals there are? And how exactly that "identification" happens?
